HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN Rental Assistance Demonstration Program (RAD) WHAT IS RAD? The Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) allows HACA to transition our public housing properties into a new HUD program called Project Based Rental Assistance. Through this transition, residents receive specific protections, improvements and choices designed to better their quality of life. That’s why at HACA, RAD = PIC. PHASE I PROPERTIES To date, HACA has converted nine of its public housing properties through RAD: Bouldin Oaks, Manchaca II, Coronado Hills, Georgian Manor, North Loop Apartments, Northgate, Shadowbend Ridge, Manchaca Village and Gaston Place. Thank you for your cooperation during relocation and construction, and for your participation in RAD resident meetings and lease signings. We are excited to tell you that construction work at Manchaca Village and Shadowbend Ridge is officially finished! Work is currently under way at Georgian Manor and North Loop Apartments. Close to 20 families have moved into their newly renovated apartments at Georgian Manor, and another 12 families are expected to move into their new apartments at North Loop within the next few weeks. Northgate is the last property in Phase I of HACA’s RAD conversion. Relocation is expected to begin at Northgate in August. ¿QUÉ ES RAD?El Programa de Demostración de Renta Asistida o RAD por sus siglas en inglés (Rental Assistance Demonstration) permite a la Autoridad de Vivienda de la Ciudad de Austin o HACA por sus siglas en inglés (Housing Authority of the City of Austin), hacer la transición de nuestras propiedades de vivienda pública al nuevo programa del Departamento de Vivienda y Desarrollo Urbano o HUD, por sus siglas en inglés (Department of Housing and Urban Development), llamado Renta Asistida Basada en Proyectos (Project Based Rental Assistance). A través de esta transición, los residentes reciben protecciones, mejoras o elecciones específicas diseñadas para mejorar su calidad de vida. De ahí que en HACA, RAD = PME.

PROPIEDADES DE FASE IHasta la fecha, HACA ha convertido nueve de sus propiedades de viviendas públicas a través del programa RAD: Bouldin Oaks, Manchaca II, Coronado Hills, Georgian Manor, North Loop Apartments, Northgate, Shadowbend Ridge, Manchaca Village y Gaston Place.

Muchas gracias por su colaboración durante la reubicación y la construcción, así como por participar en las reuniones de residentes y las firmas de arrendamientos del RAD. Con mucho entusiasmo, le informamos que el trabajo de construcción en Manchaca Village y en Shadowbend Ridge oficialmente ha llegado a su fin.

Actualmente continúan las obras en Georgian Manor y North Loop Apartments. Cerca de 20 familias se han mudado a sus apartamentos recientemente renovados en Georgian Manor, y se espera que otras 12 se muden a sus nuevos apartamentos en North Loop en las próximas semanas. Northgate es la última propiedad de Fase I de la conversión del programa RAD de HACA. Conforme a lo esperado, la reubicación en Northgate comenzará en agosto.

PROPIEDADES DE FASE II Las propiedades que se convertirán a la Asistencia de Renta Basada en Proyecto por medio de la Fase II de la conversión del programa RAD de HACE son las siguientes: Chalmers Courts, Rosewood Courts/Salina Apartments, Santa Rita Courts, Meadowbrook Apartments, Booker T.
