October 2021

OCTOBER 2021 SUMMARY Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) served 350,631 passengers in October 2021, an increase of 101.9% versus October 2020, and a decrease of 7.9% versus October 2019. The October 2021 total seat capacity was up 79.9% and the flights increased 68.6% when compared to October 2020. On October 24, 2021, aha!, operated by ExpressJet, launched non-stop flights from RNO to eight cities across the western United States. On December 15, 2021, the airline will begin non-stop flights to Spokane, WA. On January 3, 2022, the airline will start non-stop flights to Palm Springs, CA. JSX offers non-stop flights from RNO to Las Vegas, Orange County and Burbank using a 30-seat Embraer 135/145 aircraft. JSX operates out of Stellar Aviation, a private Fixed Base Operator, located at 485 South Rock Blvd. RNO handled 12,660,541 pounds of air cargo in October 2021, a decrease of 4.7% when compared to October 2020.

In October 2021, RNO handled 1,914 departures, an increase of 68.6% when compared to October 2020. This includes charter flights on Swift Air. Without the charter flights, the departures were up 67.0% for the same period. In October 2021, RNO offered 240,448 departing seats, an increase of 79.9% when compared to October 2020. A total of 9,124 operations were handled at RNO in October 2021, an increase of 6.4% when compared to October 2020. Total operations include: Air Carrier, Air Taxi, General Aviation and Military operations as reported by the FAA.
