Wind EnergyWe have provided specialist planning andenvironmental advice to over 450 onshore windfarm developments and managed the planningapplication process for over 65 onshore windprojects, delivering an above average planningapproval rate of 62% and 128MW of consentedcapacity, with a further 282MW in planning.

BiomassBiomass is increasingly becoming an importantsource of renewable energy using material derivedfrom living, or recently living organisms such as

wood, plants and animal waste to generate electricity.In Q4 2015, electricity generation from biomassprovided 7% of the UK's overall renewable energyproduction. We have recently been appointed todeliver the planning application services for aproposed new £70m biomass plant in Fife, whichwill generate 19.8 MW, enough to power 30,000homes.

Transmission and DistributionThe drive to connect power generating projectsacross the country has placed exceptionalrequirements for new and upgraded transmissionand distribution infrastructure. Members of theAtmos team have worked across many criticalprojects such as the Beauly-Denny, Beauly-Dounreayand Beauly, Blackhillock and Kintore upgrade andreinforcements and the proposed Scotland-Norwayinterconnector project, as well as Section 37applications for new renewable energy projects,where the timescale for grid connection has been a critical constraint for developer clients.


The planting proposals and visualisationsdeveloped by Atmos to resolve the HistoricScotland objection at the Binn Eco Park werecritical to the project achieving consent.
