The decisions are made through you;It’s about what you all do to drive this work forward; We are going to break a little early now; there is a link in your email now.

We wanted to offer our land acknowledgments today; Kalapuya land is the land we are on now and Coos, lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians; Grand Ronde and Coquille Tribe;

Our region is Region D; expand 6 counties; we are in Reedsport; We also have Yamhill, Polk and Marion county; we want to maintain equity across all six; Incredible work is coming down the pike as the tribes will be recognized in the educational lens;

REN naming activity; our duty is going to be creating relationships for one another and giving us a shared relationship and ownership for our group; we are going to do that together today; five mins to brainstorm on the front and back of the activity sheet; we will stop at 10:05 am

Everyone has 6 minutes to get their group name figured out; What’s a tentative name for each group?

O2V - Ocean 2 ValleySC2V - South Coast 2 ValleyREN 31

Symbols: Timber is in both places; bridges; lighthouses; Let’s vote:SO2V (SOUTHERN OCEAN 2 VALLEY) = 1SOUTH COAST TO VALLEY = 10REN 31 = 6

We do have 4/5 people that need to vote still so leave as is for now;Create group norms together; there are some expectations that are of us; but there is little that is defined on how we are supposed to do this; this is up to all of us all to define how this work looks;So we are going to be looking at four categories; but we will bring up decision making as they come up later; how are we are going to participate; how are we going to have integrity; attendance expectations; having the zoom option open for certain circumstances is important; time; how do want to spend our times together; once a month is the bare minimum until we have a REN plan in place; transparency is a big one which we need to maintain; this is a safe space for us and how can we ensure we are sharing relevant info with each other; look at what we want to be confidential; allowing other audience members into the group; we will be working on a charter together; SEL will be looked at; how do we want to feel during our meetings and what will we do make sure we feel this way; we don’t have too many deadlines ; but we need to make sure that we are doing the work with a purpose and intentionally; we will follow an improvement science model; instead of being educators who follow what’s thrown at them but instead look at what REN plan would best serve the district; This REN plan template will look at which interventions will be looked at in order to allow for long term change; Molly - why aren’t we just splitting it up (funds) and giving it to all the schools? How come we can’t do that? Charlotte - if we break up the money then our smaller districts aren’t receiving the same; and it’s just not equitable across the districts; this is to disrupt the system that is in place and it’s going to be ground breaking;

SSA is going to be going directly to districts, but REN funds are different and will come through usDoes anyone have any other questions; this work has not been done before ; so any questions that come out I will direct to the educators council by they are the ones that are moderating this;

Any questions that come up please fill out a sticky note and we will go through before the day is over; take as many sticky notes as you need and we will take ten mins. To answer the questions; after ten mins. We will go through them together; let’s take ten mins. To go through the categories;

Theme I see used is a newsletter needs to be sent to all the 31 districts not just the ones that are present; include the unions so that all the teachers are reached through the union;There are non members in the union; Ask principals to post the newsletters;

Agenda minutes: shared in a timely way; we are building a website, but we are building a REN section in order to put your names and bios; that will be what Charlotte is taking on.

Notes sent out after meetings; how many emails is too many emails? And what would you like them to include? Molly-Only put things into one email; at least once a week is best; Possibly a shared drive; maybe can we share our notes in a google doc; so the notes are always in the same spot; can everyone have access to google drive? Yes.

Dawn - As a group we should stick together ; nothing would stop us from having an audience, but the role of an audience is not as necessary for us.

Everyone had the opportunity to nominate someone, but we have as many districts as can possibly be represented in this group;

*Audience will be allowed to come on a specific, but limited basis at this time; audiencewill be given advanced notice of those times *

Olivia's notes: Time will be tough to meet up for teachers. We'll set up Zoom meetings small meetings/groups. Need calendar sent out for the future.

Participation: Small group circles great idea. If unable to attend meeting please reply after summary meeting sent out and add thoughts. Meetings are mandatory in person and attendance fewer of meeting here monthly REN versus other locations.

Outcome: Support all teachers and all funds be spent properly.Funds will be used where the funds need to go and personal funds for different areas when needed.How do we want to make decisions for a group or how would we decide on the things?
