    OBJECTIVEOBJECTIVE

    Prime motive behind this project is todesign and implement in hardware, a mobilecontrolled robotic system for maneuveringDC motors .

    Mobile platform is to be in the form of a robotcapable of standard locomotion in all directions.

    The robot can be operated in two ways; either

    by a call made to the mobile phone mounted onthe robot or by communication with a computerthrough a wireless Module.

    DESCRIPTIONDESCRIPTION

    DTMF Decoder:

    Dual-tone multi-frequency signaling

    (DTMF) is used for telecommunication

    signaling over analog telephone lines in thevoice-frequency band between telephone

    handsets and other communications devices

    and the switching center. The version of DTMF

    that is used in push-button telephones for tonedialing is known as Touch-Tone

    ATmega16:ATmega16:The ATmega16 is a low-power CMOS 8-bit microcontroller

    It gets input from the DTMF decoder.

    By programming the microcontroller ,the motor driver is controlled.

    Features:

    16kb of system programmable flash memory with read/write,

    512bytes of EEPROM,

    1KB SRAM,

    32 general purpose input/output lines, 12 MHz working frequency,

    8 bit bidirectional 4 i/o ports.

    L293D DC Motor Driver:L293D DC Motor Driver:

    To rotate 2-DC motors in

    1.clockwise,

    2.anticlockwise and

    3.stop.

    It acts as intermediate between ATmega and DC motors.

    It gets the input logic from microcontroller.

    It gives constant DC to motors until next logic change by MCU .

    5V - for L293D operating voltage.

    DC Motor:DC Motor:

    DC motor is a machine which convert electrical energy in to

    mechanical energy.

    When the rotor coil is energized, electromagnetic field is

    produced which in turn rotates the rotor.

    DC motors will be used for,

    high torque at low speed,

    compact dimensions,

    high precision,

    low noise

    long lifetime.

    CONCLUSIONCONCLUSION

    Hence, it can be concluded that mobile

    controlled robots locomotion in

    different directions can be controlled by

    pressing the assigned keys on the

    mobile phone (in this experiment; key 5

    for forward motion, key 7 for left turn,

    key 8 for stop, key 9 for right turn andkey 0 for backward motion).
