REMINISCENCE OF TIME

“There were so many of these moments that could never be captured accurately, but only in the heart.”

― Phyllis Reynolds Naylor, Now I'll Tell You Everything

The placements seasons are over. The tension mongering over the aspiring and twinkling eyes have faded. Now is the time to relax through the senses of dreams, imagining about the beautiful life that is going to be after they leave their Alma mater. They may leave MDI but their hearts will always be “mandevian” for life…

This is the wave floating among the PG14 students these days, hovering around activities to keep them engaged to this beautiful institute in few of their last breaths left physically within the campus boundaries. After placements many of them have rushed on to wander in midst of nature, scaling up to the mountains of Kasaul or encroaching the serene deserts of Jaisalmer. Few of those weekends left are well spent in the Pubs of Gurgaon or the theka. After all, this is the time for partying baby!

Amidst all those wonderful moments, cherished at each and every pulse of life, there are few moments spent to capture these into the memories to be woven forever into gifts like friendship and love. These are the special ways of remembering those two beautiful years when each of them had started with an ambition which they have fulfilled at this place. The club parties for instance, an official way of passing the torch to the new bearers in hope that they would further take the clubs to pinnacles, have already been initiated. A confession box, to all those witty and interesting tales which when re-visited tell an entire saga of the awesomeness the air has in MDI. The testimonials have been captured in the “year books” and the perceptions have changed from what it was 2 years ago.

A sports feat, Clash of Titans, is organised to showcase the supremacy and legacy to the junior batch showing them “who is the boss”. The Football Premier league, which although had more junior batch players, was most enjoyed by the senior batch, cajoling on all the mistakes the players did when not listening to the “experienced” ones.

And finally when all the fun and enjoyment blends the atmosphere into happiness, a small realisation occurs that these will be all left soon. After all, how these 2 years have passed is a mystery never to be solved. To capture these beautiful last moments, a photo session is organised where face bears a wide smile but the eyes are filled with tears of joy and reminiscence which can only be felt, never told…
