DESCRIPTION

A small brown cottage stands by a lake Lonely, abandoned, and sad, One time filled with children, laughter, and song, It sighs for the life it once had. It looks out o’er the forest, so old, And the lake, deserted and chilled, And the overgrown garden once cared for and loved, Which one time with roses was filled. It gazes down the sleeping road, Winding its way into the night, It stares up at the dusky, darkening sky, Where the stars shed their twinkling light. Even the moon, so pale and austere, Looks down tenderly from above, And the small brown cottage will stand forever, Thinking back on the days of love.

A small brown cottage stands by a lakeLonely, abandoned, and sad,

One time filled with children, laughter, and song,It sighs for the life it once had.

It looks out o’er the forest, so old,And the lake, deserted and chilled,

And the overgrown garden once cared for and loved,

Which one time with roses was filled.

It gazes down the sleeping road,Winding its way into the night,

It stares up at the dusky, darkening sky,Where the stars shed their twinkling light.

Even the moon, so pale and austere,Looks down tenderly from above,

And the small brown cottage will stand forever,Thinking back on the days of love.
