TRIP OVERVIEWJoin our experienced team for an incredible foray into the mountains, as we show you the best of the rock, ice or snow in the Southern Alps Remarkables Range. With easy access from the busy hub of Queenstown and its international airport, this is the perfect day excursion or overnight camp in a stunning and rugged range.

We climb at a 1:1 guide-to-climber ratio to enjoy as many opportunities for winter peaks and technical climbing as possible, with options for mixed and ice routes such as Cookies & Cream, Touchdown and more. This focused and personalised private trip allows you to maximise a limited time window with exhilarating climbing led by world-class local guides.

For our 1-day trips, if your designated trip date is not appropriate due to weather or conditions, we will also offer a single day contingency for the following day.

OUR GUIDESProfessional and experienced mountain guides run all of our trips. Adventure Consultants has a commitment to ensuring the highest standard of instruction and guiding practices and we only employ guides who share our philosophy. Our guides will offer you the best possible experience, and a safe and enjoyable time.

Our guides are all NZMGA and/or IFMGA internationally qualified. They have been trained and assessed through the New Zealand Mountain Guides Association, and operate to the high standards and guidelines set out by the association.

TERRAINWe operate this trip in the Remarkables Mountain Range, a stunning climbing arena which dominates the skyline of Queenstown below. The range is home to a wide selection of world-class rock, ice and mixed routes, all within close proximity and easy access from town.

EQUIPMENTClimbing in the Southern Alps requires the highest quality clothing and equipment due to the potential extremes of weather conditions. Our focus is on having the essential clothing and equipment while keeping your pack as light as possible.

Your guide will go through an equipment checklist with you at the beginning of your trip. Actual equipment taken may vary subject to seasonal weather and route conditions. All group equipment, including ropes and cooking equipment, will be provided by Adventure Consultants.

TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATIONFor trips originating in Queenstown, your guide will meet you at 8.30am at the base of the Remarkables Ski Field Road. Our Wanaka based trips also begin at 8.30am from our office. Please contact us if you have any difficulties with transport and we can liaise with you about an appropriate pick up time from your accommodation.

Air New Zealand and Qantas/Jetstar provide daily services to Queenstown from Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch airports. There are also direct flights from most major Australian cities.

A shuttle service operates several times daily between Queenstown and Wanaka (approximately one hour driving time and at a cost from NZ$35 each way), check https://www.ritchies.co.nz/wanaka for details. Bus services also operate daily between Christchurch and Wanaka (approximately 6 hours travel time).

Our 2-Day trip will spend a night in the mountains either in a snow camp or bivy, from where we can make an early start to make the most of a second full day of climbing!

FITNESS & HEALTHTo make the most of your climbing experience, we encourage you to work on your fitness prior to the trip. Your guide places special focus on fitness levels and will regulate the pace accordingly.

Our registration form requests that you declare any medical problems you may have and any medication you may be taking. Any information you supply will be treated as confidential.

The price of your trip does not include:

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

A trip member may then cancel their participation on the following basis:

• Cancellations outside of 60 days incur a NZ$250 cancellation fee.

• For cancellations made within 60 days of the trip commencement date, we reserve the right to retain 50% of the full fee.

• For cancellations made within 30 days of the trip commencement date, we reserve the right to retain 75% of the full fee.

• For cancellations within 15 days of the departure date a cancellation fee of 100% of the full fee applies.

We recommend you take out trip cancellation insurance via your travel agent if you wish to be covered against cancellation due to medical or personal reasons.
