1.Introduction

Thank you for choosing Reliance Netconnect - Broadband+.

With Reliance Netconnect - Broadband+ you can surf internet on the go.

The pictures in this "user guide" are used to indicate Reliance Netconnect - Broadband+ functions, so they may appear different on the modem dialer. Please refer to your Data Modem if there are differences.



2.Safety Warnings and Precautions

Use the original accessories or those authenticated by the manufacturer. Using any unauthenticated accessories may affect the data terminal’s performance, violate the warranty provisions or relevant national regulations about telecom terminals, or even cause body injury.

Do not disassemble, modify, frequently pull/plug the antenna, stretch, rotate or bend the antenna with great force.

Before pulling out the data modem, please use Windows “safely remove hardware” method and make sure to exit the application. Do not directly pull out the modem to avoid the damage of data modem or normal operation of operating system.

Do not forcefully plug/pull the data modem to avoid the damage of connector.

Do not use your data modem near weak signal or high-precision electronic devices. Radio wave interference may cause misoperation of electronic devices or other problems.

Turn off your data modem on airplane where it’s forbidden to use. The data modem may affect the normal operation of electronic devices, therefore please follow the relevant regulations when using your data modem on airplane.

Turn off your data modem in hospital where it’s forbidden to use. The data modem may affect the normal operation of medical apparatus, therefore please follow the relevant regulations when using your data modem in hospital.

Please do not use the data modem near flammable or explosive materials, otherwise it might cause failure or fire.

Keep your data modem away from water. This may cause overheating or failure if water or any other kind of liquid enters your data modem. Please do not use your data modem near high temperature, damp or dusty place.

Keep your data modem away from children to avoid shock, plunge or impact. It may cause body injury when the data modem is used as a toy.

4. Using modem as storage device.

Remove the back cover. Insert “Micro SD” card as indicated in fig. above. Close the back cover. Insert modem in the usb interface of PC. “Removable Disk” icon will appear. One can copy/paste or delete the files to and from the removable disk. Note: 1. Removable disk icon will appear only after installation of modem drivers. 2. Micro SD support upto 2GB.

5.Install and Uninstall

Install and Uninstall under Windows System

Install

1. Please connect Data Modem to PC through USB interface. You could also use data cable to connect.

2. The installation will start automatically. Please follow installation wizard.

3. The system will automatically find new hardware and install the driver. Wait for a while. Click “Finish” to complete installation.

After the Dialer is installed successfully, icon will appear on your desktop. Double-click this icon or select from Start Programs Reliance Netconnect - Broadband+ Reliance Netconnect - Broadband+. Run the application to display the user interface.

Note:

1. Uninstall previous versions of ZTE Dialer before attempting to install Data Modem dialer, to ensure successful installation.

2. Please connect Data Modem and PC with USB extension cable under weak signal to obtain optimal performance. If necessary, adjust the Data Modem's position.

Uninstall

1. Select Start Programs Reliance Netconnect - Broadband+ Uninstall Reliance Netconnect - Broadband+, and you will be asked if you want to remove the program. Click “Yes” to uninstall.

2. Please wait and then click “OK” to complete uninstallation.

Install and Uninstall under MAC System

Install

1. Insert the Data Modem.

2. Double-click the icon on the Desktop.

3. Double-click the icon .

4. Double-click the icon in the setup volume to start the setup wizard. Follow the wizard to complete the installation step by step.

5. Click “Restart” to complete the software installation.

Uninstall

1. Select Finder Applications Reliance Netconnect - Broadband+ Uninstall Reliance Netconnect - Broadband+, and you will be asked if you want to remove the program. Click “Yes” to uninstall.

2. Please wait and then click “OK” to complete uninstallation.



6. Descriptions of icons The icons on the interface:

he icons on the Status Bar:

Modem latched to 1X service Network unavailable

Modem latched to HSD service Connection indication

Modem is in Hybrid mode Roaming indication

Signal strength indication. More number of bars indicate stronger signal. Sleep/Dormant state indication



7. ACTIVATION

In order to access internet, you should activate the USB modem first.

You can Click to activate the modem.

Press "ESC" on keyboard to end activation process.

Note: Activation is not allowed in “Broadband+” mode. Please switch to “Hybrid” or “High Speed 1X” mode for activation.

8. Connect Connect

1. Click icon to set the relevant parameters. For details, please refer to "Settings".

2. Click to enter the interface.

3. Click .

4. Please connect the usb modem and PC with USB extension cable under weak signal to obtain the optimal performance. If necessary, adjust the usb modem’s position.

Disconnect

Click to disconnect from Internet.



9. Connection Logs

Click icon to view Connection Logs . Connection records save the data session information.

By switching among "List", "Month" and "Statistic", one can check the records by month or by time.

Note：Details are only for reference purpose and not for billing purpose.

Delete Connection Records

Click button to delete the selected records.

Clear Connection Records

Click button to delete all the records.



10. Settings

Click to enter the settings interface.

Network Connection Settings

Set the network parameters (phone number, username, password), work mode, etc.

After the setting, click "Apply" button to save the settings on the current interface.

Click "Default" button and then "Apply" button to restore the settings on the current interface to factory default.

Note: The default network setup parameters are as below. Different regions may have different network setup parameters, so please consult your local telecom operator.

Mode: Modem operates in three modes. High speed 1X — When user selects this mode modem will latch only to High speed 1x network. Broadband+ — When user selects this mode modem will latch only to Broadband+ network. Here user will observe higher data speeds and rich web browsing experience. Hybrid — When user selects this mode modem will latch on to the available service so that user can enjoy seamless connectivity.



Lock USB Modem

Click “Settings” options to select “Lock USB Modem”. Check “verify password when startup”. You can set password to lock the USB Modem. When the modem is locked, click “Settings” button then select “Unlock USB Modem”, input password and click “OK”, the USB Modem will be unlocked. Click “Settings” button then select “Change lock code”, you can modify the password.

11. ZAPAK

To play games on zapak.com click on button.

12. Help

Click button to enter the help menu.

Click “Help” button to view the relevant help file; click “Help Online and Technical Support” to enter our company's website.

You could view the software version information under “About”.



13. Trouble-shooting for Windows and MAC

Failures Causes Solutions

Error occurs during the program installation. The setup file may be damaged.

Please download the program on our website http://www.ztemt.com/ennewzte/default.action and reinstall it.

Directly run the software before the usb modem is plugged in.

Close the software, plug in the usb modem and run it again.

Open port failed. The port is occupied by other applications, such as "Hyper terminal", or the software is already running.

Close relevant software and start the application again.

No signal indication Out of the network service area. Make sure it is in the CDMA network service area.

Wrong setting of parameters. (Phone, Username, Password.)

Input correct parameters. Consult your service provider for details.

No account balance Consult your service provider for details. Dialing failed

Network congestion or failure. Try again later. USB modem is already connected. Disconnect and Reconnect again.

Internet connection failure. Poor network signal. View signal strength indication use usb

cable to obtain optimal performance The program has already been installed in current system.

Firstly remove the original program and insert the modem again.

The installation program can't auto run. (If the USB Modem supports auto setup function.)

Autorun function in CD-ROM is disabled because of installation of anti-virus software in the system, or Windows Vista system itself disables Autorun function by CD-ROM by default.

Please check anti-virus software settings.

CD-ROM icon will automatically disappear once the program is installed successfully.

Firstly remove the original program and insert the modem again.

No CD-ROM disk icon in "My Computer". The program is not yet installed,

and no other previous version was installed in the system.

Please restart your computer. Please contact your local operator or product technical support center if CD-ROM disk icon doesn't appear after your computer is restarted.

The driver might be unable to work and the application is unable to run normally if the modem is pulled out and plugged in again when the application is being used under Win2000 operating system . (SP4).In this case, usb modem in device manager will be marked with yellow exclamation mark, and the system must be restarted to run normally.

The operating system needs installing Update Roll 1 patch for Win2K SP4.
