RCM Course Objective • Provide a deeper understanding on what it takes for our maintenance to be most effective and efficient. • Realize that maintenance tasks will be based from the consequences of the failure itself • Know when to use the different maintenance tasks at hand with the aid of a Decision Diagram • Learn the 6 failure patterns and how it affects us in our day to day maintenance activities • Learn how to apply Reliability-Centred Maintenance in our daily activities

RCM Course Overview • This course covers the principles of RCM which is a process used to determine the maintenance requirements of any physical asset in its present operating context. RCM is done by asking seven questions about our asset or system that is being maintained - What are the functions and associated performance standards of the asset in its present operating context ? - In what ways does it fail to fulfill its functions? - What causes each functional failure ? - What happens when each failure occurs ? - In what ways does each failure matters ? - What can be done to predict or prevent each failure ? - What should be done if a suitable proactive tasks cannot be found ? • RCM was discovered by Stanley Nowlan and Howard Heap from United Airlines industry and emerged from the most important piece of research ever done on an equipment. RCM explains the capabilities as well as the limitation of scheduled Preventive Maintenance. RCM is a process to determine what should be done in order to ensure that our physical assets continue to do whatever the user wants them to do in its present operating context. • If you are happy with the way you and your people perform maintenance, then I am glad for you and you don’t need this course, but if you ever wonder and have the slightest doubt that your current Preventive Maintenance strategy is not enough despite your very best and noble efforts, then you definitely need to attend this course.

Provide the participants with an indebt scope, practices and procedures for an effective Reliability-Centered Maintenance program that can be successfully adapted in our plant. I think DMCI will be benefited if this program will be implemented. Breakdowns will surely reduce which will result in profit increase for DMCI. From Rolando Antonio Chavez Jr, Plant Manager, DMCI Palawan By attending this training, I have gained a lot of knowledge and ideas on how to maintain and especially improve our equipment to make our power plant more efficient, competitive and reliable power provider. From Arvin Borlagdatan, Mechanical Supervisor Good points about this training is that it charge the way we workers maintain our equipment. It will give us help to lower the costs during maintenance activities on repair and new strategies on planning. It will help us to be more reliable and become proactive maintenance personnel and practitioner. From Clifford Pampo, Maintenance Planner, DMCI Palawan It widen our understanding on what maintenance can do to improve our plant’s KPI. Also it boosts the morale of the participants. A culture can be change with the right ideas and skills. Implementation of RCM is not an easy tasks to do but with the support of management, a common goal will be met. From Ryan Gigante, Maintenance Planner, DMCI Masbate We must practice Condition-Based Maintenance instead of Preventive Maintenance approach. I have learned the difference between Reactive, Preventive, Corrective and Proactive Maintenance. Failures cannot be eliminated, the best that maintenance can do is to control the timing of failures and lessen its consequences. Culture change is important for us to be successful on doing RCM in our plant. From Gadjali Jali, Electrical Supervisor, DMCI The trainer engaged the trainees by giving exercises to improve and enhance our knowledge on Reliability-Centered Maintenance. From Kristoffer John Ramos, O&M Supervisor, DMCI Calapan We are now knowledgeable enough on the RCM process and how important it is for our plant maintenance. We will no start making our industry to be one of the World Class Maintenance Department. Thank You Mr.l Rolly. From Ellazar Salazar, Jr. Engineer, DMCI Palawan Trainer is very knowledgeable about maintenance. There is no dull moments during training and he presented the modules in a fun way. He exceeded the expectations of the maintenance. From Marian Laarni Garcia Immediate application of RCM to DPC Plants. Clear and concise information on effective and latest maintenance strategies that can be applied across industries. From Renante Calago, VR Manager This training made me realized that not all PM is effective in maintenance and that we must also consider Predictive Maintenance and Proactive Maintenance even Reactive Maintenance. From Melchor Espera Jr. Planning Engineer, DMCI Very informative. Cleared a lot of things in the maintenance system we are having and how to change it. From Renato Lafiguera Jr., Senior Tech. Engineer Content of the training materials. Interesting topics. Useful and professional teacher. From Nino Cueto, Supervisor, Allegro Microsystem Realization regarding PM Checklists. Benefits of RCM versus the old way of doing PM. More information regarding the different maintenance tasks and approach. From Aljefer Cruz, Supervisor, Allegro Microsystem Very informative and additional learning in our tasks. It gave us an understanding about Reliability-Centered Maintenance. From Ronnie Sicat, Allego Microsystems

Focus only on things that maintenance must do to ensure that equipment will work on what the customers expected it to be used. Get rid of tasks that can add to the breakdown. Teaches the value of teamwork as it encourage maintenance and operators to work together for one common goal which is to have an efficient equipment. From Renati Hernandez Jr., Section Head, Allegro Microsystem Active participation. Speaker is not bored to impart his knowledge with the subject. Trainer is will verse on the subject. From Jared Ferrolino, Allegro Microsystems Up to date and relevant to our current job and set-up. Well versed on the subject matter. Testing materials available. From Jojo Tribaco, Equipment Engineer, Allegro Microsystem The training was helpful towards basic understanding of Reliability-Centered Maintenance and its importance in our field of work. The training was very informative and entertaining in nature. From Mark Joseph Cuizon, Supervisor, Allegro Microsystem It help me learn new things about maintenance specifically RCM and make me more confident and comfortable to further improve our organization. From Ariel Yagin, EOL Section Manager, Allegro Microsystem Clear presentation and actual exercise. All questions by the participants were clearly answered. Very active facilitator. Have a very healthy discussion. From Rodolfo Asaytuno, Section Head, Allegro Microsystem A new knowledge where it can improve the performance of our equipment. The training and topic is very interesting since this is a new knowledge. The facilitator shows his expertise and deliver the topic well. From Adman Manubay, Section Head, Allegro Microsystems This is by far the most relevant, eye-opening and useful training I had attended. Mr. Rolly had just set the bar of what a trainer should be. There was no dull moments. The Rolling Stones. From Christopher Junio, Section Head, Allegro Microsystem The training was conducted very interesting and satisfying. No dull moments that will make yourself out of focus in learning. The content and context of the whole training. The training enlightened me on the real purpose of maintenance. From Jayson Ilagan, Senior Manufacturing Equipment Engineer, Allegro Microsystem Knowledge and understanding about maintenance was clearly stated and presented. The trainer have a good connection with the trainees. From Eric Roxas, Department Manager, Allegro Microsystem This training is very useful to us since this is the first time we got knowledge on this kind of maintenance system and have introduce RCM in our company. From Erwin Odronia, EOL Supervisor, Allegro Microsystem It empowered me that the maintenance should not shoulder everything. Operations should also take part. The old timers/Rolling Stones should not be disregarded. Equipment should be prolonged. Not all maintenance tasks should be under PM but to have a contingency on those equipment in which Predictive Maintenance should be included. It opened our mind that what we are doing is not wrong but not correct also. Our process should be improved. From Bonna May Estopido, Diagnostic Manager, Manila Water Provides program for our maintenance department so they can serve water utility and used water department better. We in used water and water utility can understand what maintenance department are planning regarding our assets. From Kiel Eduard Ella, Plant Manager, Used Water, Manila Water We learned that not only Preventive Maintenance can prevent the failure/breakdown of our assets/equipment but it can be predicted by using Predictive Maintenance. Learn the right way of analyzing PM and monitoring which can reduce the OPEX of our equipment. From Maria Soledad Bartolome, Work Planner, Manila Water
