BEST’S SPORTS SHOW
Q - What was your inspiration for Fun-Nominal Events and Marketing? A - I really enjoy events and marketing and have been enthralled with both from a young age. There are so many great small businesses that can’t afford marketing help, don’t know how to create an event at their location, or be a part of a larger event. Providing that solution and watching businesses succeed and grow is incredibly rewarding.
Q - What has been your experience when it comes to social media and businesses what has been your experience?
A - Social media changes daily. For a small business keeping up with images and content can be overwhelming which is where Fun-Nominal Event comes in. The same plan doesn’t work for everyone, but every business can f ind the right f it to get their message out without the stress and huge price tag.
Q – What was the first event you worked?A - I did a lot of volunteering as a teen locally, but my first real festival job was working for the Taste of Crystal Lake in Crystal Lake, IL at 15 years old helping with VIP guest check-in, general help, and helping communicate emergency preparation for vendors as a a small tornado got ready to pas through. It was fun, exciting, and I was hooked.
Q - Did your industry start out as your passion or did it grow organically?A - I have always been attracted to the events industry and non-traditional marketing. I started Fun-Nominal Events for the event side and the “and marketing” part soon became a natural f it . Having a retail or corporate event tied into promoting the event and developed into promoting the business year round.
Q - What are your thoughts about today’s corporate events trends? A - There are so many of the same events beings done. Great events, but there are already so many 5Ks, golf tournaments, art auctions, etc that businesses starting events today need to have a unique hook. Events that are out of the box, educating, and family friendly do better than f itting your goals into the same existing event models.
