Application for Nitec Courses
• There is keen competition for places in ITE Nitec courses
• Not participating in the Main Application Phase reduces
a student’s likelihood of gaining a place in ITE
• Students keen to apply for the Traineeship Scheme
should also be reminded to concurrently participate in
the Main Application phase to avoid missing out a place
in ITE altogether
Application for Nitec Courses
• Students who had earlier participated in the School
College Admission Scheme (SCAS) and were
unsuccessful in their application should be reminded
to participate in the Main Application Phase to avoid
missing a place in ITE
• Students need to exercise the full 12 choices and
include less popular options to maximise their
chances of a successful posting
Application for Nitec Courses
• N(A)* students need to understand that they are on
‘an equal footing’ with N(T) students in ITE’s
admission process*applicable only for N(A) students not eligible for
progression to 5NA/DPP or not seeking retention at
4NA

All N(A)*/N(T) school leavers are encouraged to apply
during the 1st Phase (Main Phase) between day of
release of GCE ‘N’ results at 2.30pm to Thu 22 Dec 16 at
5pm. *applicable only for N(A) students not eligible for progression to 5NA or not seeking
retention at 4NA
Students will be contacted by the school if no
application has been made.

Students can be promoted to Sec 5N(A) if they satisfy the following criteria:
• ELMAB3 (Eng, Maths and best three other subjects) aggregate score of 19 points or less
• At least an N(A)-level grade 5 for all subjects used in the computation of ELMAB3.

Additional Pathways for 4N(A) graduates
DPP
Students can enroll in the DPP (Higher Nitec) at ITE
• ELMAB3 aggregate of 19 points or better
• Guaranteed a place in a poly diploma mapped to their Higher Nitec, subject to them obtaining a minimum GPA
• Eligible students will be able to apply for the DPP online via the ITE website
• Successful applicants will attend a 10-week prep course prior to commencing their Higher Nitec

• PFP is a one year foundation programmeat the polytechnics
• Students can enroll in PFP if ELMAB3 aggregate of 11 points or better
• Following the release of GCE O Level results, eligible students will be invited to apply for the PFP

• Complete the enrolment form for 2017
• Submit the completed enrolment form to General Office by 5pm on 21 Dec 2016
Posting results for the Sec 5N(A) classes for 2017 will be posted on the school website as well as outside the General Office by 1pm 29 Dec 2016
Progression to Sec 5N(A)
• Combined results is allowed for the purpose of computing the aggregate score for promotion to Sec 5N(A)
• Students can only combine the results of 2 consecutive GCE N(A) examinations
• Students applying for DPP/PFP cannot combine two years’ examination results
Use of Combined Results for 2 Consecutive Years
Sec 4N(A) students are eligible to repeat their N(A)-Level examination if they satisfy the following criteria:
(a) Obtain an aggregate score:
• Not exceeding 21 points for ELMAB3 or
• Not exceeding 14 points for ELB3 or
• Not exceeding 14 points for MAB3 and
(b) (i) Will not be more than 4 years overage for SC/PR (i.e. born
on or after 2 Jan 1997)
or
(ii) Will not be more than 2 years overage for International Students (i.e.
born on or after 2 Jan 1999) and
(c) Sat for the GCE N(A)-Level exam only once previously
Retention Criteria for Sec 4N(A)
If you would like to repeat, please
• meet VP Mr Goh Kee Yong at the SDC at 2:45pm
• submit the repeat form to the General Office by 5pm on 21 Dec 2016
