1.1 About the Release Notes

This Release Notes describes the new functions and the features in the ISA100 FlexLine R220. In our efforts to provide the most up-to-date information, updates to this Release Notes are available on the Honeywell Online Support website.

1.2 Target Group for this Release Notes

The SmartRadar FlexLine Release Notes is intended for service engineers who are assigned to provision, configure, operate, and monitor an ISA100 wireless field device network using the SmartRadar FlexLine field devices.

The ISA100 SmartRadar FlexLine User's Guide provides information about provisioning, configuring, operating, and monitoring the ISA100 wireless field device network using the SmartRadar FlexLine field devices.

2.1 Check for updates on Honeywell Process Solutions website

In our effort to provide the most up-to-date information, updates to this Release Notes are available on the Honeywell Process Solutions website.

Before you install this software revision, check the Honeywell Process Solutions website for updates. If you are a new user, register at URL - http://www.honeywellprocess.com.

Download Honeywell software updates, documentation, and recommended antivirus updates from the Honeywell Process Solutions website (http://www.honeywellprocess.com).

To access the Honeywell Process Solutions website

1. In a web browser, type the following URL.

http://www.honeywellprocess.com.

2. If you are a new user, register at this website. Click Register, and follow the on-screen instructions.

3. If you are already registered, type your user name and password, and click Login on the login page.

The Home page, along with your registered name appears.

To download documents, security updates, or antivirus notifications

1. On the Home page, click the Support tab.

The Product Support page appears.

2. In the Search box, type the name of the required document, security update, or antivirus notification. For example, to download the Release Notes, type SmartRadar FlexLine Release Notes in the Search box and click Search.

2.2 Supported migration paths

Following are the ISA100 FlexLine supported migration paths. For more information about the migration procedures, refer to the SmartRadar FlexLine Migration User’s Guide.

You must migrate to the R120.1 patch 12 first and then migrate to R220. Ensure that the R120.1 patches are installed on the OneWireless server, and the firmware is updated on multinodes and field devices before migrating to R220.

The following are the supported migration paths for the OneWireless Network.

What’s new in ISA100 FlexLine R220

CHAPTER 3 WHAT’S NEW IN ISA100 FLEXLINE R220

3.1 ISA100 standard compliance

The SmartRadar FlexLine field device exchanges information with any system that supports the ISA100 standard network.

OneWireless network is compliant with the ISA100 standard that mandates interoperable, reliable, and secure wireless operation for applications ranging from non-critical monitoring to closed loop control systems.

3.2 Protocol tunneling

OneWireless R220 WDM supports GPU and Flexconn protocol tunnel. WDM uses the protocol tunneling feature to provide the applications (Engauge tool/CIU Prime) for configuring and monitoring the SmartRadar FlexLine field devices wirelessly.

Protocol tunneling can be established for the SmartRadar FlexLine field device in the following ways.

1. Serial tunneling through RS-232 or RS-485: The serial RS-232 is configured on COM1 of the WDM and serial RS-485 is configured on COM2 of the WDM.

2. Ethernet/UDP tunneling: Multiple clients are supported with the Ethernet/UDP.

NOTE: Redundancy is not supported with the serial RS-232 protocol tunneling.

The supported Engauge tool version is v2.6.

3.3 Over-the-air firmware upgrade feature

The over-the-air upgrade feature provides the ability to upgrade the application firmware on the CAN-1WL board through the OneWireless user interface.

The sensor boards (TII-XR, FCI-HT, FII-VT, FII-SMV, FII-RTD, HCI-GPU, HCI-BPM, and FII-DO) can be upgraded through the Engauge tool wirelessly.

NOTE: You must not upgrade the HCI-1WL (CAN-1WL) board using the Engauge tool because the SmartRadar FlexLine field device drops from the network permanently and it also damages the card.

3.4 Over-the-air provisioning

Over-the-air provisioning allows you to provision an FDAP, Cisco Aironet 1552S AP, Multinode, or SmartRadar FlexLine field devices wirelessly.

3.5 Block instantiation

OneWireless supports block instantiation for SmartRadar FlexLine field device channels. You can add, remove, and reconfigure channels supported by the SmartRadar FlexLine field devices.

3.6 Meshing (routing)

The SmartRadar FlexLine field device supports routing as per ISA100 standards. That is, the SmartRadar FlexLine field device can be routed through another SmartRadar FlexLine field device.

The device can be configured as routing or non-routing from the ISA100 system user interface. The device joins the network as a routing device by default.

CHAPTER 4 ISA100 FLEXLINE CONFIGURATION

4.1 Prerequisites

This section contains the prerequisites for the configuration of the SmartRadar FlexLine field devices.

4.1.1 Supported browsers

The following table lists all supported browsers for accessing the OneWireless R220 user interface.

{†2} 64-bit mode support for Internet Explorer only.

NOTE: This interface can be used for accessing the SmartRadar FlexLine field devices.

4.1.2 Supported Silverlight plug-in versions

The minimum supported version of the Silverlight plug-in required to access the OneWireless R220 user interface is 5.1.20513.0. If the Silverlight plug-in is not installed or needs to be upgraded, you are prompted with instructions to install or upgrade the plug-in when attempting to connect to your WDM. The Microsoft Silverlight plug-in resides on the WDM.

5.1 Field devices

PAR Error Description, Recovery, and Workaround

1-2EDDHVV Error Indication Unable to configure negative transmitter power levels using the Engauge tool.

Description Transmit Power Level values can range from-5 dBm to 20 dBm. Negative Transmit Power Level values configured in Engauge tool are not displayed in the OneWireless User Interface.

Recovery Not applicable

Workaround Negative Transmit Power Level values may range from -5 to -1. Use 255 for -1, 254 for -2, 253 for -3, 252 for -4, and 251 for -5
