1. PURPOSE

This document contains generic information about new Nokia FlexiHopper product release.

2. KEYWORDS

3. SUMMARY

This is an announcement of new Nokia FlexiHopper FH 5.3 and FH 3.4 release.

The software update of previous Nokia FlexiHopper releases is not mandatory to existing install base. This SW release includes new SW functionality. See chapter Detailed description.

This release is compatible with Nokia FlexiHopper Plus and Nokia FlexiHopper 4E1 products in 4-state modulation mode.

Deliveries of these SW releases will start from Nokia Online Services at June 2007.

SW downgrades are not recommended.

4. DETAILED DESCRIPTION

4.1 New features

Nokia FlexiHopper FH 5.3 and FH 3.4 releases includes following features in addition to previous Nokia FlexiHopper features: Support for following new frequencies:

Alarm rationalization. The techniques to implement alarm rationalization are: o improved alarm handling by filtering the toggling alarms o disturbance events modification o no alarms during power-up

More aggressive phase noise fix parameters for 2x2 and 4x2 capacities. The default values are the same as in P55046.01 E7 and P55040.01 H7 SW versions, but the more aggressive parameters can be switched on via a separate Q1 command (6,200,10,1,1) to target of Outdoor Unit.

5. SOLUTION / INSTRUCTIONS

5.1 Software upgrade

Software upgrade to Nokia FlexiHopper FH 5.3 and 3.4 level is done according to Nokia FlexiHopper (Plus) software downloading instruction FlexiHopper (Plus) Product Documentation, chapter Installing and Upgrading software for Nokia FlexiHopper (Plus). This is available in NOLS (Nokia Online Services).

The software is available in June 2007 in NOLS -> Care -> Software delivery https://www.online.nokia.com/SWD/

This new structure is optimized for online documentation, which can be viewed with NED 5.4 browser. Both online and PDF documentation are available in NOLS and on standalone CD-ROM.
