It is alleged that before he killedhis wife, the suspect told his children to go totheir room. The woman was then murdered inthe couple’s bedroom. The man was arrested

I have recently become very aware of howmany folk seem to be giving up on life – I donot mean that they want to commit suicide(although some do) but rather that they aregiving up on the life and goals that they areliving for.

In today’s world our young folk generally donot persevere with the work that they aredoing and hop from one job to another,usually for extra money but often just becausethey do not really know what they want to dowith their lives. I was speaking to a colleagueof mine this last week and he was sharinghow his daughter had so many different ideasof what she is going to do (she is in matric)and when he shared with his children thatshe must make up her mind because her careerdecision is “long term” his eldest daughtersaid “Dad you have got it wrong, in today’slife we work at one job for a while and thenmove to another”. His eldest daughter is onehundred per cent correct – but I wonder howmany children realize that as they get olderthey are going to find that they are still on the“bottom” or at best “middle” rung of theladder – you need to establish yourself in ajob and persevere – in that way you grow andin that way you get promoted to seniorpositions. If you speak to many older folk youwill find that the men worked in one or twocompanies for their whole lives – and manyclimbed the corporate ladder – even withoutqualification.My other concern is that too many peoplecarry this character into their own life. Peoplegive up too easy on working at relationships,study, family life….the list just goes on andon. No wonder there are so many folk gettingdivorced and also so many people (men andwomen) having affairs.As we look at today’s life I guess we need toask the question: “Is this tendency correct or

is the more “stable” tendency correct”? I feelthat we need to come back to the value andstandard on which life should be based.When we look at Biblical times we see howsuccessful people were when they remainedfaithful to God, their calling on life and alsofocused on living a life as Christ wanted themto live. The lessons we learn from biblicaltimes is one of perseverance. We do not seeor hear of people jumping form one job toanother. Jesus had two jobs (carpenter andthen his ministry life), Paul had two jobs,Moses had two jobs – and the list goes on.We do however see that some people likeJoseph had more than two jobs but the workthat he was doing was not money driven butrather in answer to God’s call on his life.The stories of perseverance that inspire meare the stories of the lady who wanted to behealed and persevered until she touchedJesus’ garment – and she was healed. Whatabout Zacchaeus – he wanted to see Jesusand so he ran ahead of the crowd and climbeda tree so that he could see – now that isperseverance.I am hoping that this article lights a small flameinside us all. That we would remember thatJesus is our source of strength and as wetrust in Him we will be able to persevere andnot give up on life. Remember that all thingsare possible through God.

Duduza SAPS requires your assistance in locating Mzmani SamuelChauke.The SAPS is investigating two cases of theft of motor vehicles thatoccurred in November 2012. Chauke allegedly posed as a mechanicwhen 2 victims left their vehicles, an Opel Corsa and an old MercedesBenz, for repairs. He asked them to leave a deposit before he startsworking, later when the victims came to collect their cars Chauke wasnowhere to be found. Chauke is requested to contact the investigatingofficer urgently. 22 Year old Fanie Radebe and 21 year old MoeketsiThejane were found guilty at the Nigel Regional Courtfor Assault with intent to commit grievous body harm,kidnapping and rape.On August 16, 2009 the victims were walking in Masecha-ba View, Duduza, when they realised they were beingfollowed by two men. The victims entered into the yard ofa nearby house in order to escape but were grabbed andthe male victim, 20 years of age, was assaulted by thesuspects.They then forced him to leave his girlfriend. Theyabsconded the scene of the assault with the female victim.The police was notified of a decomposed body in a fieldin Duduza.The body was later identified as the female victim abductedon the 16th. The body was removed to Governmentmortuary where it was discovered that there were traces

Warrant Officer Billy Mabilane wasthen assigned to investigate the case and on August 25received information on the where abouts of MoeketsiThejane, one of the suspects.He searched the taverns and shebeens in the Nigel areawith other members from Duduza Detective Branch, andthis led to the discovery of the suspects work address.The suspect was arrested on the 27 by Warrant OfficerMabilane. On the 28, after receiving more information, thesecond suspect, Fanie Radebe, was traced and arrestedin Balfour. Fanie was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment on chargesof assault with intent to commit grievous body harm,kidnapping and rape while Moeketsi Thejane wassentenced to 7 years imprisonment for assault with intentto commit grievous body harm and kidnapping.

The tariffsare adjusted in accordance with the preceding12 month Consumer Price Index (CPI). The toll adjustments are indicative of allconventional toll plaza’s in South Africa and

Toll tariff adjustmentsis not applicable to the Gauteng FreewayImprovement Project. The traditional vehicleclasses (i.e. four classes) for the conventionaltoll plazas still apply and the discounts arestill applicable per toll plaza as per the normalrates. Road users in specific local areas in vicinityof toll plaza’s and frequent users of specificplaza’s are encouraged to enquire with therelevant toll plaza offices with regards to theDiscounts that are offered along the routes.
