RehaCom – New version 6.2 from April 2013

RehaCom Main Programme • Self Evaluation

§ The client evaluates his/her own (expected) performance situation before

and after the training by answering a couple of questions.

§ To set up, if wanted or not, in: Client Data à File

• High Contrast

§ Bigger and better visible frames in “Attention and Concentration” and “Two-

Dimensional Operations” for clients with severe visual field disorders.

§ To set up, if wanted or not, in: Client Data à File

• Neglect Function

§ Click “Left” for client with a visual field problem on their left side and click

“Right” for clients with a visual field problem on their right side.

§ To set up in: Client Data à File

• Diagnosis

§ Choose the patient´s medical diagnosis from a list.

§ To find in: Client Data à File

• Show or hide training modules which are not installed

§ Tick or un-tick the box “Show training modules not installed” in

“Network/Directory” (see screenshot below)

• Show or hide training modules which are not licensed

§ Tick or un-tick the box “Show training modules not licensed” in

“Network/Directory” (see screenshot below)

• Data Protection

§ When registering a client in the internet (in „Client Data“), the address is not

anymore a must to fill in. Now only user name and password are mandatory fields.

§ In the newly designed window „Network/Directory“ (see screenshot below) a

clinic can choose to store the patient data (such as training results and client

data) on their own network/server instead of storing it in the internet. Therefore

type in that certain server name in the field “RehaCom webserver data”.

Training Module “Divided Attention 2” (GEA2) • It is possible to do the training while simulating a real car with a real car dashboard.

Therefore tick the box “Cockpit view” in the parameter menu.

• It is possible to raise the attention level for the patient by ticking the box

“Additional attention level” in the parameter menu. In this case there will be police

cars to pay attention to and brake the own speed down. This will start from level 9.

Training Module “Figural Memory” (BILD) • The speed of the conveyer can be changed now, to set up in the parameter menu.

• The conveyer‘s direction is now automatically correlated to the patient’s language.

• The default setting is now “Memorize a picture – Reproduce a picture“.

• New pictures were integrated and all pictures are now labeled. So aphasic patients

can now be trained by letting them read aloud.

• Higher contrasts implemented now.

Training Module “Saccadic Training” (SAKA)

• A new paradigm was included, the Optokinetic Stimulation (OKS), to set up in the

parameter menu. OKS means that dots all over the background move from left to

right or the other way around and draw the client’s attention to the visually

problematic side of the patient. The direction is set automatically by choosing “left”

or “right” at “Neglect” in Client Data à File (see above).

• There are more levels of difficulty now: 34 now, 28 before.

• At the beginning levels the objects are closer to the sun (fixation point) than in

higher levels.

• The default setting is now “not moving objects“, this can be changed in the

parameter menu, though.

• In the parameter menu both max. reaction time and optimal reaction time can be

set. Max. reaction time = a new stimulus will appear after __ seconds. Optimal

reaction time = The results will show if and how much the patient’s reaction differs

from the optimal reaction time of __ seconds.

Training Module “Topological Memory” (MEMO)

• New graphics

• New design

• Higher resolution

Screening Test Modules • RehaCom includes 5 modules for screening now. In contrast to a complex

assessment, a screening just gives a hint according to the deviation of the norm.

• Data of about 200 healthy people are included as normalized values.

• At the end of each screening there is a recommendation which training modules

should be chosen for this client.

• Please see a detailed description of all screening modules below.
