ADDENDUM ITEM NO. 2.2: Delete: Pages L-110-8 and L-110-9 of Specification Item L-110 “Airport Underground Electrical Duct Banks and Conduits”. Insert: Pages L-110-8 and L-110-9 dated March 24, 2021 – Addendum 2 of Specification Item L-110 “Airport Underground Electrical Duct Banks and Conduits”. Description of Changes:

1. Modification to Pay Item numbers within specification to match the schedule of values.

Additions and revisions to the specification has been made in blue text. A vertical line is added to the right margin to indicate specification section updates. ADDENDUM ITEM NO. 2.3: Delete: The description of Pay Item L-108-3 Remove Electrical Cables. Insert: The new description of Pay Item L-108-3 Remove Electrical Cables in Existing Duct to Remain. Description of Change: Pay Item description changed to clarify that removing cables is only paid for when removed from existing ducts to remain. See Addendum Item No. 2.1 for change of quantities. ADDENDUM ITEM NO. 2.4: Revise: The second paragraph of Section 115-2.3 Precast concrete structures on Page L-115-2 of Specification Item L-115 Electrical Manholes and Junction Structures to read the following: Precast concrete structures shall be an approved standard design of the manufacturer. Precast

units shall have mortar or bitumastic sealer placed between all joints to make them watertight.

The structure shall be designed to withstand 100,000 lb. wheel loads with 250 psi tire pressure

and for spans of greater than 2 feet in the least direction, the design will be based on the number

of wheels which will fit the span at a spacing of 30", unless otherwise shown on the plans.

Openings or knockouts shall be provided in the structure as detailed on the plans.

CONTRACT DRAWINGS ADDENDUM ITEM NO. 2.5:

Revise: The loading on structures from 200,000 lb aircraft wheel load to the following:

All precast and field cast structures, frames, grates and covers will be designed for 100,000 lb.

METHOD OF MEASUREMENT

110-4.1 Underground conduits and duct banks shall be measured by the linear feet of conduits and duct banks installed or removed, including encasement, locator tape, trenching and backfill with designated material, and restoration, and for drain lines, the termination at the drainage structure, all measured in place, completed, and accepted. Separate measurement shall be made for the various types and sizes.

BASIS OF PAYMENT

110-5.1 Payment will be made at the contract unit price per linear foot for each type and size of conduit and duct bank installed or removed, completed and accepted, including trench and backfill with the designated material, and, for drain lines, the termination at the drainage structure. This price shall be full compensation for removal and disposal of existing duct banks and conduits as shown on the plans, furnishing all materials and for all preparation, assembly, and installation of these materials, and for all labor, equipment, tools, and incidentals necessary to complete this item per the provisions and intent of the plans and specifications.

Removal of cables within ducts to be removed shall be considered incidental to the duct removal pay item, no matter the number of cables. The pay item for removal of cable included in Specification Item L-108 will only include those cables that are being removed from existing ducts to remain.
