REGULATIONS OF STUDENTS FEE PAYMENT

(POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS)

UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA PAHANG

1.0 PURPOSE

1.1 Payments means any fee that is imposed on students as stipulated

by University Malaysia Pahang authority.

2.0 PAYMENT REGULATIONS

2.1 New Students (Research Mode)

2.1.1 New Local Postgraduate Students must settle all

payments imposed at the latest by the day of

registration.

2.1.2 New International Graduate Students must settle one

year fees imposed at the latest by the day of

registration.

2.2 Current Students (Research Mode)

2.2.1 All current students of Postgraduate programmes, with

or without sponsor must settle all payments imposed

before or on the day of semester registration.

2.2.2 Students with Expired Scholarship/Loan or in the process

of Extending Scholarship/Loan Application

2.2.2.1 Postgraduate students with expired

scholarship/loan or in the process of extending

scholarship/loan must settle all study fees

before or on the day of semester registration.

2.2.3 Students with Partial Sponsorship

2.2.3.1 Postgraduate students must settle the

difference which is not sponsored at the latest

by the third week of the semester.

3.0 PAYMENT REGULATIONS (COURSEWORK MODE)

3.1 New Students (Coursework Mode)

3.1.1 New Local Students must settle minimum fees of 12

credit hour for Full Time Students and 6 credit hour for

Part Time Students with one-off entry fees and recurring

fees at the latest by the day of registration.

3.1.1 New International Students must settle minimum fees of

24 credit hour a year for Full Time Students and 12 credit

hour for Part Time Students with one-off entry fees and

recurring fees at the latest by the day of registration.

3.2 Current Students (Coursework Mode)

3.2.1 All current Local and International Students must settle

minimum fees of 12 credit hour for Full Time Students and

6 credit hour for Part Time Students with recurring fees at

the latest by the day of registration.

3.2.1 Final Year Local and International Students must settle

fees with the balance of credit hour with recurring fees at

the latest by the day of registration.

3.2.2 Students with Expired Scholarship/Loan or in the process

of Extending Scholarship/Loan Application

3.2.2.1 Postgraduate students with expired scholarship/loan

or in the process of extending scholarship/loan must

settle all study fees before or on the day of semester

registration.

3.2.3 Students with Partial Sponsorship

3.2.3.1 Postgraduate students must settle the difference

which is not sponsored at the latest by the third week

of the semester.

3.2.4 Students who have outstanding fee are not allowed to

make course/semester registration.

3.2.5 Students who apply for a course add/drop/withdrawal

within the add/drop course period must pay the

remaining fee by week nine (9) which is one week after

mid semester break

3.2.6 No refund will be made for students who withdraw after

add/drop week.

3.2.7 Students who fail to pay the total fees within the given

period is subjected to the barring action.

3.2.8 Student who fail to settle all payments after the

stipulated duration will be imposed with these actions :-

i. Not allowed to make course registration

ii. Exam results will be held back

iii. Examination results transcripts will be

retained

iv. Not allowed to attend convocation

v. Not allowed to attend lectures

vi. Not allowed to sit examinations

vii. Suspended

viii. Expelled

4 CREDIT HOUR RATE (COURSEWORK MODE)

4.1 The total fee is based on the number of credits taken. Tuition

fee per credit hour are as follows :-

Local International

Engineering field RM285/credit hour RM400/credit hour

Science field RM285/credit hour RM400/credit hour

MBA RM375/credit hour RM525/credit hour

Other fees are to be settled in full.

5 OTHER REGULATIONS

5.1 Disciplinary Actions

5.1.1 Students who are given disciplinary action against them,

either being expelled or suspended from study must

settle all payments for the semester where the date of

punishment is effective.

5.2 Withdraw from Study

5.2.1 New Students

a. Registration Fee

No refund will be given to new students who

withdraw after registration day.

b. Tuition and other fee

For new students who withdraw within 14 days from

the registration date , payment of tuition fees will be

refunded.

c. New students who withdraw / defer their studies

after 14 days from the registration date must settle

all fees for the semester.

5.2.2 Current Students

a. Current students who register and withdraw after 14

days of the semester must settle all fees for the

semester.

5.2.3 Deferment of Study

Students whose application for deferment of study are

approved by the Universiti Authority at any semester

must settle the fees as follows:

5.2.3.1 For students who defer their study within 14

days of the semester, tuition fees will be

refunded

5.2.3.2 If approval is given before the mid semester

break ends, students must settle half of the

tuition fee.

5.2.3.3 If approval is given after the mid semester

break ends, students must settle student fee in

full.

5.2.3.4 Other fees are required to be settled in full for

items 5.2.4.2 and 5.2.4.3 above, while hostel

fee must be paid for the semester

5.3 Medical Leave

For students who are approved for deferment due to medical

leave by the University Authority at any semester, payment will

be refunded

5.4 Refunds

5.4.1 Personal Bond will be refunded to students who has

completed their studies in UMP. Payment will be made

thru Electronic Transfer. Students are required to submit

their bank account number either local bank or their

country of origin. Payment to third party is not allowed.

5.4.2 University deserves the rights to make adjustment of

any excess amount from the student’s ledger against

their debt.

5.4.3 All applications for refund will only be processed for

applications of transactions for the current financial year

only. If the applications are of transactions which are

overdue of the university accounting year, there will be

no refund made. The university financial year ends on

every 31 December.

5.5 Fee rates for research mode students which has

submitted Draft Thesis and Final Thesis

5.5.1 For research mode students who had submitted draft

thesis at IPS, the fee charged is for service fee

amounting to RM 300. However, students must exceed a

minimum semester according to the programme as

below:

5.5.2 For research mode students which has submitted final

thsesis at IPS and exceed the minimum semester, no

tuition fee is charged for the semester.

5.6 Late Registration Penalty

5.6.1 Coursework Mode

5.6.1.1 New Local and International Students must

register during registration day as stated in

offer letter and academic semester schedule.

Late penalty will be charged RM50/day and

maximum RM500.

5.6.1.2 Current Local and International Students must

settle minimum payment that has been set and

register via student’s e-community within

registration week according academic semester

schedule. Late penalties will be charged

RM50/day and maximum RM500.

5.6.2 Students for Research Mode

5.6.2.1 New Local and International Students must

register within the time that has been set

according offer letter and academic semester

schedule.

5.6.2.2 Current Local and International Students must

settle minimum payment that has been set and

register via student’s e-community within

registration week according academic semester

schedule. Late penalties will be charged

RM50/day and maximum RM500.

5.7 Hostel charge for local and international postgraduate students

5.7.1 Postgraduate students need to settle hostel

payment before they are allowed to stay.

Students will charged for 6 month duration.

5.7.2 Charge is according to month and calculation of

full months will be imposed. There is no

calculation by prorate basis.

5.7.3 Hostel accommodation for postgraduate students

are subject to abiding hostel rules.

6. ACTIONS AGAINST STUDENTS WHO FAIL TO SETTLE

PAYMENT

6.1 Student who fail to settle all payments after the stipulated

duration will be imposed with these actions :-

6.1.1 Not allowed to make course registration

6.1.2 Exam results will be held back

6.1.3 Examination results transcripts will be retained

6.1.4 Not allowed to attend convocation

6.1.5 Not allowed to attend lectures

6.1.6 Not allowed to sit examinations

6.1.7 Suspended

6.1.8 Expelled

7.0 STUDENT FEE RATE

The tuition fee is based on the current rate according to the
