4.1. G7 Student Senate
Student Trustee Samson introduced the G7 Student Senate, as well as the incoming Student Trustee, Kaylee Kelly from Huntsville High School. The students spoke about the many activities and campaigns they championed throughout the year, including the Great Grain Challenge and the G7 Conference.

6.2. Administrative Reports
6.2.a. Review of the SEAC Input into the 2019-2020 Budget Superintendent of Learning Sornberger presented the SEAC Input into the 2019-2020 Budget report. THE SEAC INPUT INTO THE 2019-2020 BUDGET REPORT WAS RECEIVED FOR INFORMATION.
6.2.b. SEAC Membership 2019-2020 Superintendent of Learning Sornberger updated trustees on the appointment of community representative Elaine Scriven to the 2019-2022 SEAC term.
19-06-108 D. Morrison / C. Wilcox THAT TRUSTEES APPROVE ELAINE SCRIVEN AS THE COMMUNITY LIVING SOUTH MUSKOKA SEAC REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE 2019-2022 SEAC TERM. Carried.
6.2.c. 2019-2020 Draft Budget
Superintendent of Business Services Ellis acknowledged the work of Senior Manager of Financial Services, Nicole Britton, and Victoria Stewart, Accounting Manager, Finance Department in helping to put together the 2019-2020 Draft Budget, which Superintendent Ellis presented to trustees. THE 2019-2020 DRAFT BUDGET WAS RECEIVED FOR INFORMATION.
6.3. Trustee Reports
6.3.a. SEAC Minutes dated June 4, 2019 On behalf of Trustee Alton, Trustee Morrison presented the minutes of the June 4, 2019 SEAC meeting. THE SEAC MINUTES DATED JUNE 4, 2019 WERE RECEIVED FOR INFORMATION.
7. INFORMATION ITEMS (VERBAL)
7.1. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS
7.1.a. Ministry Audit and Accountability Fund Update Director of Education Hope provided information to trustees about the auditing and investigative services opportunity that have been offered to school boards by the provincial government to help identify potential efficiencies.

7.1.b. Special Board Meeting Director Hope expects that the 2019-2020 budget will be finalized within the next week and will require a special meeting of the board by video or teleconference.

7.1.c. Administrative Update
Director Hope updated trustees on the following items and events: • Thanked trustees in advance for their attendance at the many end-of-school events. • Trustees will be provided with a survey inviting trustees to select a bargaining table
to join for upcoming negotiations.
7.1.d. System Update District Manager Shedden provided an update on upcoming events and department initiatives.
7.2. STUDENT TRUSTEE REPORTS
7.2.a. G7 Student Senate Report Student Trustee Samson provided an update on recent G7 Student Senate events and activities.
7.2.b. OSTA-AECO Report Student Trustee Samson provided an update on OSTA-AECO events and activities. Following the report, Chair Clodd presented Student Trustee Samson with a plaque commemorating her term as student trustee for the 2018-2019 school year.
7.3. TRUSTEE REPORTS
7.3.a. OPSBA Delegate/OPSBA Board of Directors Louise Clodd was acclaimed as OPSBA Alternate Delegate. Trustee Wilcox was voted to the OPSBA Board of Directors.
7.3.b. OPSBA Report Trustee Morrison provided an update on OPSBA information and upcoming events.

4.2.b. Ministry Audit and Accountability Fund Report
Director Hope and Superintendent of Business Services Ellis presented trustees with an update regarding the opportunity to apply for the Ministry of Education’s Audit and Accountability Fund to undertake a review of operations and service delivery at TLDSB.

ADMINISTRATIVE REPORT
DATE: August 21, 2019 TO: Trustees SUBJECT: Suspension and Expulsion Data Review for 2018-2019 ORIGIN: Dave Golden, Superintendent of Learning REFERENCE: Board Meeting – August 27, 2019 PURPOSE: To provide trustees with data regarding student suspensions and
expulsions for the period of September 2018 to June 2019. CONTEXT: Information on suspensions and expulsions is gathered and
reported annually to Trustees as part of system monitoring of Safe and Accepting Schools initiatives.
CONTENT: Trillium Lakelands District School Board remains committed to
maintaining Safe and Accepting Schools. With that concept in mind, the school board works collaboratively with all staff, students, partners and stakeholders to create a safe environment for all staff and students.
This presentation contains a summary of suspensions and
expulsions for the 2018-2019 school year. Data is examined in comparison to the same period in previous years.
Data on suspensions and expulsions is collected monthly and is
used in concert with other indicators to direct programs and services to schools throughout the school year.
