$95 for a full day class, cost includes morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

$75 per person, for a half day class, includes morning tea & lunch or lunch & afternoon tea

Kits - are purchased separately from the Tutor on the day. A class requirement list and tutor contact information is included in the back of this brochure, pages 14 - 16

The event is open to everyone, no membership required.

Minimum age 12 years old. Parent/guardian must be in the building (not necessarily in the same workshop). Children must have basic skills for sewing/cutting and using tools/equipment safely.

She had an inspirational textiles teacher at school and her interest and education continued from there. Quilting came later and having only been doing it for about 16 years. Since beginning patchwork and quilting, Sharon has tried various techniques, though she has always wanted to complete the whole process from start to finish. Having come across the Westalee quilting rulers, Sharon began to see how she could achieve the fi-nal major part of quilting herself. Sharon took a couple of classes and was hooked. It has now be-come something that she is passionate about and inspired to share with others.

She started ceramics in 1990 as a student and was asked to work at the studio she attended, pouring moulds and making her own moulds, then going on to learn how to teach ceramics. Yvonne took the Grand Champion award at the Canning Show in 2006 and has won blue and red ribbons for her exhibits at the Royal Perth Show. As an avid sewer, in 2010, Yvonne discovered patchwork and is now 100% addicted and willing to share her addiction with everyone.

ABOUT THE ARTIST Jo Harvey was born and bred in Geraldton where she was taught the basics of crochet by her mum at the age of 10. Jo learnt more advanced techniques from a local artist who made beautiful crochet table cloths and taught Jo to start and finish her projects neatly. Jo loves all crafts including crochet, knitting, beading, scrapbooking, cross stitch, tapestry and has also learnt tatting and bobbin lace. Jo Enjoys reading, jigsaws, paint by numbers and music - she loves to dance and has been taking rock & roll lessons for a few years now. Jo has 3 grown children and one granddaughter in Perth. She lives with her cat ‘Fran’ and partner Kevin in Geraldton, working between her crocheting at St John of God Hospital in admin.

Now as the Importer and Distributer for Powertex in Australia, Ashley wishes to share her excitement about this amazing art medium with others! KERRY MOORE SATURDAY NEEDLE-TURN APPLIQUE Combine the techniques of needle-turn applique with the beauty of Australian wildflowers. In this one day class we will begin a placemat, learning how to do the technical aspects of needle-turn applique – points, gullies, curves, layers as well as how to arrange your pattern onto the place-mat and work with your fabric colours. You will have covered all techniques needed in the class and can easily finish this project at home. There will be some machine sewing to do at home to finish the placemat – adding border, quilting and binding. REGISTRATION $95 KIT $35 REQUIREMENTS See list provided SUNDAY MORNING or AFTERNOON NEEDLE-TURN APPLIQUE

In this half day class we will begin to decorate a linen tea towel, learning how to do the technical aspects of needle-turn applique – points, gullies, curves, layers as well as how to arrange your pattern onto the towel and work with your fabric colours. You will have covered all techniques needed in the class and can easily finish this project at home if needed. (The tea towel is completely hemmed.) REGISTRATION $75 KIT $20 Additional single tea towel $10 REQUIREMENTS See list provided ABOUT THE ARTIST Kerry Moore began patchwork and quilting 28 years ago and very quickly developed an interest in applique. Her fourth quilt had lots of appliqued roses and she has made many appliqued pieces since. Kerry has been teaching for many years now and was accepted as an accredited teacher with the West Australian Quilters Association where she has taught needle-turn applique and hand quilting . In recent years has become an enthusiast of Australian wildflowers and specifically Western Australian wild flowers which she began painting in watercolours and now turns them into quilts. Kerry loves the variety and different colours in wildflowers to the cottage garden flowers. Kerry is excited to be sharing her skills and passion for her craft.

LLYNNETTE NEIL Ravens Croft Textile Studio SATURDAY & SUNDAY (TWO DAY WORKSHOP) TEXTILE ART WORKSHOP Design and make your own stunning textile sample that can be turned into homewares, cushions, quilts or fashion items including bags. Using inspiration from the amazing land, sea or night scapes of Australia, you will learn tips and techniques to create your textile through machine stitching, thread painting, free motion quilting, beading, ink and paints. REGISTRATION $190 KIT $75 REQUIREMENTS

• Fabric Scissors

• Serviced sewing machine complete with all feet, correct bobbins, tool kit, instruction book all accessories.

• Make sure your machine is cleaned of all fluff and debris in the bobbin case.

• NB: The machines must be able to drop the feed dogs to enable freehand machining.

• Artwork ideas. IE Photographs are particularly versatile, especially the land, sea, air or just marks in the dust.

• Use your camera like a visual diary.

• Fully enclosed footwear is essential. ABOUT THE ARTIST

Llynnette Neil lives on a cattle property near Waroona WA, working from her studio in the old shearing shed complex.

Since retiring she has completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Contemporary Fashion and Textiles. Llynnette is influenced by the 1940s and 50s ethos of “Waste Not Want Not” and the vibrant colours of the and sheer physicality of the Australian landscape.

By using vintage and recycled fabrics she offers a consid-ered approach to the threat to our ecology of wasteful textile practises.

CHARMAINE WEBB Cobwebbs Craft Studio SATURDAY MIXED MEDIA - GNOMES With three styles to choose from, you can make a cute Gnome for your garden or alfresco, approx. 50cm tall (point of hat to feet) using MDF shapes, materials, clay, and other elements to form the shape of the Gnome. We will be using Powertex mediums on the piece to make it waterproof for your garden. You will learn how to correctly apply Powertex, colouring with pigments & how to create a shape using recycled bits of material. REGISTRATION $95 KIT: $55 REQUIREMENTS: All supplied in kit. SUNDAY MORNING MIXED MEDIA - VIOLIN TAGS A reminder that you can hang up somewhere to take time to hear the Music of Life. Use MDF & Recycled cardboard you can create this lovely tag approx. 40xm in length to hang up. We will be using some Powertex mediums as well as various other mixed media to create this Tag, including a stencil that is yours to take home. We will also learn some dry brushing to create a worn or aged look as well. Spray stains will form the base colours on which to layer up the bits. Have fun deciding where to place all your bits on the tag or just follow the example layout, the choice is yours. REGISTRATION $75 KIT: $30 REQUIREMENTS: All supplied in kit. SUNDAY AFTERNOON MIXED MEDIA - MEMENTO’s SUITCASE Keep your special items from a trip or event in this suitcase box or use as a jewellery box. MDF is the base of the project, with some stencilling, moulded bits, paper flowers & materials to create this cute little suitcase. We will be using Powertex to paint, dip fabric & colour up the project along with some dry brushing techniques & layering of colours. REGISTRATION $75 KIT: $30 REQUIREMENTS: All supplied in kit. ABOUT THE ARTIST Charmaine Webb’s motto is “Dust off the Cobwebs and get crafting” . She has always dabbled in anything Craft from an early age from her love of knitting to sewing, painting & sculptural work. After 30 years of being in Accounting, Charmaine decided to take a break from stress and dedicate some time to crafts. She always loved cutting & making things, her hubby is always willing to cut some of those “plankie thingies”, which encourages Charmaine to step up with her own designed and cut stencils, MDF kits & chippy’s. Charmaine loves to teach people how to make things and she finds the time crafting with others so immensely satisfying. Charmaine truly believes we all have art embedded in us, we just need to take time to shine. Charmaine is a certified Powertex Trainer and loves using it on her projects.

Kogin is an ancient Embroidery technique originating from the Aomori prefecture in Japan. Traditionally, a cotton thread was embroidered on a hemp or linen fabrics to make peasants garment more resistant to cold climates. With time, Kogin designs became more specific to particular areas and developed into an art. Kaye has done some dressmaking on and off throughout the years and started Fashion sewing again when she moved to Geraldton in 2006.
