Endoscopic Graft Harvesting
Dear colleagues,
For decades cardiac surgery used to be the „surgery of long incisions“. Patients left the hospital with a scar from the jugulum to the xiphoid and a scar from the ankle to the groin when under-going coronary artery bypass grafting. Since the early 1990ies attempts have been made to reduce the incisions for saphenous vein harvesting and to develop minimally invasive and endoscopic techniques.
Today, a couple of harvesting systems are available for endoscopic saphenous vein and radial artery harvesting in coronary artery bypass surgery and vascular surgery. The major advantages of the endoscopic harvesting technique are a reduction of wound complications and an excellent cosmetic outcome.
The main focus of the symposium will be the presentation of the different endoscopic harvesting techniques and systems. The second part of the symposium will give you the chance to train on dummies with all systems presented.
We hope to offer all participants a unique learning experience and look forward to welcoming you to Munich in November.
