Sean O’Kelly & Ray Stewart
Sean O’Kelly has been inflating and decorating with balloons since 1983 when he
and his wife Edelgard (dec. 2009) started Balloon Décor in Melbourne Australia
as an extension to their then Party Supply business OK Party Supplies - during
the past 27 years working on some of the biggest inflated projects in the
country, along side many of the Industry’s most creative designers. Since its
formation in 1991 he has been an active member of BASA, presenting at
Conventions in Australia and overseas. Over the past ten years he and Edelgard
designed and constructed all the décor for five Premier Balloons Catalogues,
writing over 50 of their Balloon It instruction sheets. Their work also enhanced
several catalogues and websites for overseas companies. In 2010 he
restructured Balloon Décor to utilise his personal sculpture design, display,
marketing, writing and computer graphics skills.

Ray Stewart, with his wife Renee started the Frankston Party Emporium in
2006. Hard work and growth has lead to the move of the store in 2010, with a
dedicated inflation/workshop built for greater expansion with balloon projects.!
Ray was a committee member on Melbourne’s “Around the World In 80 Days”
Convention, and is presently!treasurer for BASA Vic. His work ethic!adopts a
‘What you put in is what you get out’ attitude and he describes his!role of
instructor/designer at the Titanic Launch as a ‘great experience’ that he is keen
to build on.!His passion for ‘bigger is better’ is displayed in his work that
frequently includes substantial framing. Motorised animation, parade floats,
and!(balloon) car show entries!a few!examples that!highlight his short but busy
career in balloons.
“Titanic, it doesn’t get bigger than that. I’m honoured to be involved with such
an awesome!project.! Replicating an iconic land mark like St Stephens Tower
(Big Ben) gives us so much scope to be creative and stretch the envelope.”
I truly consider that being part of the Titanic Launch is one of the highlights of
my career. I was a Presenter at the Titanic Event in 1995 and I’m excited about
working with Ray Stewart on this challenging project. I feel confident it gives us
both the opportunity to take our balloon display décor to another level.”

Brie and John Martin A dynamic Husband and Wife team who have been involved in the balloon
industry for 18 years. Balloons are definitely their passion with John focusing
on the " How to" make things happen and create ideas and Brie on the " How
to" contain John's enthusiasm.
John has developed a broad range of skills primarily out of his own mind and
ability to tackling ideas and providing solutions for a specific design or effect.
Entertainment was the starting point for John, developing his twisting skills
which soon lead into theming and decorating. This skill base has also been
developed primarily out of necessity being geographically located in the top
half of the North Island in New Zealand. With very few industry leaders in
New Zealand John has forged his own style and uniqueness which is
unmistakable. Continually turning up to industry education days to learn from
anyone who has something to say, never to big to learn something new.
2010 saw both Brie and John attain their CBA's which is a fantastic system
and they encourage all balloonies to take this path of learning.
The balloon industry is very exciting and John especially enjoys the challenge
of new opportunities and sharing ideas with equally passionate people. Always
ask the question, How can we do this? by using passion, creative ideas and
world class products.
