Initiative promising new discoveries and treatments toward improved healthcare. Early 2016, China also announced a $9.2 Billion, 15-year initiative that will establish the country as a leader in precision medicine. In both public and private sector, "precision medicine” will now undoubtedly become the standard for the future of healthcare. With an educational goal, this session aims to interrogate “Precision Medicine” from diverse perspectives of multiple key players in the industry. How does the pharmaceutical industry leverage “precision medicine” to develop better and more precise therapeutics for targeted patient populations? How can molecular diagnostic firms leverage emerging policies and technologies to develop companion diagnostics to support development of “precision medicine”? What are the opportunities and challenges of the Chinese “Precision Medicine Initiative" as compared to its US counterpart?
