“QUALITY IN HIGHER EDUCATION”
NATIONAL SEMINAR AND
ABOUT THE SEMINAR
SUB-THEMES OF THE SEMINAR
High quality and relevant higher education is able to equip students with the knowledge, skills and core transferable competencies they need to succeed after graduation, within a high quality learning environment which recognizes and supports good teaching. Higher education graduates are more likely to find employment than people with lower levels of qualifications, higher education curricula are often slow to respond to changing needs in the wider economy and fail to anticipate or help to shape the careers of tomorrow. Higher education institutions in modernizing education programmers to provide graduates with high-level, employable skills, as well as the transferable skills that equip graduates for a fast-changing labor market. The overall scenario of higher education in India does not match with the global Quality standards. Hence, there is enough justification for an increased assessment of the Quality of the country’s educational institutions. The purpose of Quality Approaches in Higher Education is to engage the higher education community and the Education Division members in a discussion of topics related to improving quality and finding best practices in higher education.
“Education should also be autonomous and free from politics. The modernisation of the curriculum and skilled personnel in the profession would help India to achieve the set goals. Better qualified people should come to the noble profession of teaching to develop innovative mechanisms in Indian education system.” - Montek Singh Ahluwalia
We are inviting delegates from various parts of India and outside India to participate as well as share, discuss and come out with concrete suggestion about Quality in Higher Education.
