Registration Guide

Welcome to the 2018 Diamond Challenge Competition! We

have rolled out a new, in-depth platform to manage your team

registration and submission process this year. Please follow this step

by step registration guide to complete your team registration and

submission.

Step 1: Go to http://diamondchallenge.org/

Step2: Click on “STUDENTS: REGISTER YOUR TEAM HERE” Only one individual (team leader)

from each team will register for the entire team

Step 3: Fill out the First Name, Last Name, Email, Password (at least 8 digits), High School

Graduation Year, team leader’s Date of Birth, the Country you live in, and City you live in

When entering Participant Date of Birth, please make sure you enter your true birthday by

picking the correct calendar year and date.

The correct Date of Birth is in the format of DD/MM/YY, for example, 22/07/1993.

Then select which country you live in.

For “What City you live in”, please type the formal title of the city you live in and do not use

abbreviation.

Please fill in registrant (team leader)’s phone number which includes the area code.

Please fill in registrant (team leader)’s official name and address of the high school

Step 4: Please check “I’m not a robot” and select all the images with the question prompted

and click “Verify” and then click “Register”

Step 5: Please go to the email account you sign up with and click the verification link to

confirm your registration. If you skip this step, your registration won’t be completed.

Please click the link in blue color to confirm your registration.

Step 6: After you click the blue link, you will see this page.

Step 7: Click on “important Diamond Challenge Information” and pay attention to this page.

Step 8: Pay attention to the important dates and if you have questions, you can email us at

info@diamondchallenge.org

Step 9: Start new concept by clicking “Start new concept” button

Step 10: Select Pitch Site and Competition Track, if you do not live near a pitch site or if a

competition track is not offered near you, you can select “virtual” at the bottom of this drop

down list.

For example, I want to pitch in San Jose’s Costa Rica and they only have live pitch site for

Social Innovation.

However, if I want to submit business concept instead, I can use “Virtual” as Pitch Site. Then

select “Business Concept Virtual”

Step 11: Type in your “Concept Name”. Please be more descriptive and creative as you can.

Whatever concept name you choose will be publicized on Diamond Challenge media outlets.

Then click “Save+next”.

You will see this page and please click on “Team Information” tab

Step 12: Add Team members’ contact information. Please note: You only need to add your

team members’ information here. If you are the registrant, please do not add your own

contact information here.

You must have at least 1 other team member (a minimum of 2 students per team, a

maximum of 4 students)

Please use the most utilized email address, because we will contact you when we find errors

in your registration.

Please answer “YES” or “NO” for “Do you have a 10-digit phone number”.

If you select “Yes”, then enter 10 digit phone number.

If you select “No”, please type your complete phone number which includes the area code.

Please include spaces in between each number grouping.

Please use full name of your team member’s school and mailing address, including street

number and name, city, state, zip code and country.

Please do not use abbreviations.

Select your team member’s “High school Graduation Year”, not your graduation year

Select your team member’s correct date of birth. The format is MM/DD/YY

Select from the drop down menu “What country do you live in” and type in “What city do you

live in?”

Step 13: This is a very important step. For example, if your pitch idea is initiated by someone

in a camp and you would like to expand it, you need to give credits to this person or

organization. Please list their names here.

Step 14: You can add additional team members if you want. The maximum number of team

member is 3, not including the registrant (team leader).

Step 15: Enter advisor information, First name, Last name and Email address. An advisor who

is 18 years of age or older is required for your team to be qualified in this competition.

Answer the question “Does your advisor have a 10-digit phone number?

If you select “Yes”, then enter 10 digit phone number.

If you select “No”, please type your complete phone number which includes the area code.

Please include spaces in between each number grouping.

Please identify if your advisor is a K-12 Employee or other. K-12 employee is someone who

teaches kindergarten through 12th grade (the end of high school).

Your advisor can either be a “K-12 employee” or “Other”.

If you select “Other”, then select from one of the options.

Step 16: In “Concept Information “tab, fill in 1-sentence Concept Description.

Please be concise and specific. It will be utilized in our Diamond Challenge social media to

promote our competition.

Step 17: In “Uploads” tab, you can upload your Written Concept, Pitch Deck and

Attachments.

Please pay attention to the requirement of the file type to be uploaded.

If you select the virtual competition, you will be required to submit a recorded video pitch as

well.

Step 18: When you are ready to submit, click the “Submit Concept” button. If you are not

ready to submit it yet, please always to click “Save+Close”, then you can work on it later.
