It is the time of year to begin plan-ning religious education clas-ses! This is a perfect opportunity to share your Catholic faith with the children and youth of our growing community. We are in need of Catechists and Catechist Aides for our Wednesday and Sunday ses-sions. Our teacher manuals are easy to follow and show step by step instructions on how to plan a lesson. You do not need an exten-
sive knowledge of Theology or Religion, just bring a love for Christ, a love for our youth and the desire to spread the Good News. Prayerfully consider sharing your time and talents, and spread the word, and bring a friend who may want to learn more about volunteering. 16th Sunday in Ordinary Time The second reading for the Liturgy this weekend speaks of Christ who is our peace. The peace to which Paul refers is that peace we now have with God through Christ since our separation from God has been healed by Christ’s death and resurrection. Rooted as we now are in God’s love and peace, we can be peace for oth-ers by our lives and actions. This peace is manifested most fully when we show respect to others, even our enemies. With God’s grace and love, we can, through our thoughts, words and actions show only good will and respect to all thus spreading peace to our broken world. How can you be a peacemaker this week? Décimo Sexto Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario La segunda lectura de la Liturgia esta semana habla de que Cris-to es nuestra paz. La paz a la cual Pablo se refiere es la paz que sabemos que tenemos con Dios a través de Cristo ya que nues-tra separación de Dios ha sido sanada por la muerte y resurrec-ción de Cristo. Enraizados, como ahora estamos, en el amor de Dios y en su paz, podemos ser paz para otros a través de nues-tras vidas y acciones. Esta paz se manifiesta más completamen-te cuando mostramos respeto por otros, incluso nuestros enemi-gos. Con la gracia y el amor de Dios, podemos, a través de nues-tros pensamientos, palabras y acciones, mostrar sólo buena vol-untad y respeto hacia todos, divulgando así la paz para nuestro mundo roto ¿Cómo puede usted ser un hacedor de paz esta semana?
