Dear Convention Attendee:

The Minnesota Onsite Wastewater Association, in cooperation with the University of Minnesota and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, will present the 2016 Minnesota Onsite Wastewater Convention January 26

th – 28

th, 2016!

At the 2016 convention, we will offer over 30 booths at the River’s Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud, MN – one of the most celebrated choices for conventions in Minnesota. This year’s conference theme is “Insight to Onsite.” The theme for Tuesday’s pre-conference is “Taking Care of Technology.” Our keynote speakers are Tom Fritts, presenting on “The Future of the Onsite Industry,” and Hector Hernandez, who will offer several sessions on “Preparing Yourself for Dog Encounters,” – a popular favorite on the national circuit. We will offer MPCA updates and a Closing Session on “The Onsite Wastewater Industry and Our Carbon Footprint,” by Jessica Kautz. We also bring back the popular open forum presentations. Back by popular demand is the free MPCA

Re-Testing Exam Session on Tuesday afternoon and - new this year – Pipelayer Training will also be offered on Tuesday afternoon. Tuesday promises to be action-packed this year with the Trade Show opening at 4:00 pm and a fun social event on tap for that evening. Join us at the Exhibit Hall from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday for food, games, and prizes! We are also bringing back the popular Roe-d-Hoe competition and will be adding a prize for “best inexperienced” contender. First prize for the Roe-d-Hoe will be a trip to compete in the finals at the NOWRA conference in Reno, Nevada October 26 – 29, 2016. See page 6 of Exhibitor/Sponsor Registration packet for sponsorship opportunities.

Why join us at the 2016 Wastewater Convention?

As an attendee you’ll be able to earn CEUs, meet with the people who service Minnesota’s onsite industry, and network with other industry professionals. MOWA’s mission is promoting professionalism in the wastewater industry. This is achieved through involvement in education,

legislation and government relations activities, and by hosting the only onsite wastewater

convention in the state. MOWA is recognized as an important source of guidance to local and state agencies in policy and rule development. The organization works closely with the U of M’s Onsite Sewage Treatment Program and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency to enhance education, policies, and research benefiting professionals, homeowners, government officials, and community leaders.

Within the last several years MOWA has: o Influenced new language and policies in State Code revision o Created legislation to clarify licensing requirements for SSTS systems o Expanded member services to include business management training o Moved activities around the state to better serve its members and the industry o Conducted “hands-on” Summer Seminars across Minnesota o Expanded membership options with 500+ individual and group members

None of these accomplishments could have happened without the support and leadership of MOWA members and industry suppliers and manufacturers. “Come grow with us” at our annual convention and talk to the leaders in Minnesota’s onsite wastewater industry.

We look forward to seeing you in St. Cloud January 26th

– 28th
