sidered the most profitable, method of testing com, and the one recommended, the testing of shelled seed is considerably less trouble. It gives the percentage of germination of the entire lot and is much better than no test. If shelled seed is to be tested, first select the best ears from the bulk lot, shell them and when the first bushel of shelled seeds is obtained mix thoroughly and- tAkfi HflVftral handfuls from different parts of the container. Keep this separate; empty the first bushel and shell more ears until the next, bushel is obtained.- Mix this and take out several handfuls as before.
