We have rescued more lucky golden souls in desperate need of our help, we have welcomed more lovely families to our charity, we have been contacted by more volunteers who would like to get involved in the work we undertake and a few Trusts for animal welfare are hoping to work in partnership with us to expand our vision for the future.
It’s simply incredible to see the charity growing in a way we should all be very proud of.
This growth is only possible because of the simply incredible support the charity receives. There is a place at Happy Paws for anyone who wishes to get involved, we all have a part to play and everyone’s input is very much appreciated as working together we achieve so much more and boy there is still so much to do!
Every day here at HP HQ I see cruelty that I will never comprehend. The charity has encountered dog baiting, starving, cruel confinement, beating and much more - people often ask me how I personally deal with this. I often reply that I have learnt to channel my anger into positive action - I won’t give the evil, ignorant excuse for a human being who has hurt a dog any of
my time - I just focus on getting our kids to safety and starting them on their journey to a better life.
The Happy Paws Barmy Army gives me so much strength to fight hard for our kids and for that I will always be grateful.
So to our future - the charity will continue to grow, continue to fight and continue
to care for each and every golden who comes our way. The charity will expand into new areas of animal welfare where we feel we can make a difference. The charity will continue to build positive relationships with other organisations as together we are stronger and can make more of a difference.
You, our supporters are the backbone of the charity and I want to send my personal thanks and love to each and everyone of you for joining me on this golden journey. We have come a long way together but we still have a way to go!
Who knows where the next six months will take us, but all I know is I’m so grateful that you are all standing with me in the name of animal welfare and we are rocking it for the rescues!
Lots of love to you all

Summer 2019The Happy Paws journey continues and it’s always a nice time to reflect and think about what’s happened in the last six months.Well it’s certainly been an exciting time for the charity.
We were asked to help poor Lando who had been left chained for years, it was quite frankly heartbreaking!
He was so sad, confused, frightened and filthy. He was taken straight to the vets and they discovered he had a nasty abscess on his neck - that must of been so painful. It was immediately treated. He had all his blood tests and we got him straight into foster care.
When he arrived in foster he had a nice bath and started his rehabilitation.
Lando thrived with the care and attention he received and made great strides.
It was soon time for Lando to make his journey to the UK to meet his wonderful family.
Lando finally has the life he so deserves. This is all down to us all working together
to make his life better.
Sandy was found hiding behind a dustbin. He had been abandoned to fend for himself. He was so scared when he was found that he had to be coaxed out!
We agreed to help him straight away and his journey began.Sandy was taken to the vets and given a full health check.
Surprisingly he had no health issues - he was just thin.We got him off to a lovely foster home as soon as we
could and he simply thrived in a loving environment. His coat was matted, it had to be clipped, but it will
grow back soon.We found him the perfect family who will love,
support and make him feel safe. x He now lives very happily with his two siblings, Louis
and Lucy, ( both Happy Paws kids). Sandy’s life has come full circle and we are all so
happy for our special little boy. xx Perfect!

Basil was not wanted by his original family so they threw him away and left him at a public pound.
He was picked on by the other dogs and he was starving!People who do this to their dogs make me sick - although I
do get a kick thinking Basil now hopefully has a better quality of life than they do! I can only hope!
When we rescued him he was shut down, depressed and poorly. He was so matted he had to be clipped right back. He went straight to the vets and off to a wonderful foster home.
He took a little time to recover but he made great progress and when it was his time to travel to his wonderful family we could not be happier for him.
Basil was on the brink of giving up but angels were on his side and his life was transformed.
He is now living the Happy Paws dream and we could not be happier for our special boy.
Poor little Abby was thrown out like a bit of old rubbish to fend for herself.
It was simply heart breaking to see her begging for a little food, desperate for some affection and hoping that someone would be kind and not chase her away!
Lucky for Abby she was found by an angel and we were asked to step in and help her. We were fortunate enough to have just about enough funds to keep her safe.
She had a nice bath and under all the dirt she was a beautiful colour.
On a recent visit I met Abby and had some lovely cuddles.
We found Abby the most loving family where she will be loved, cuddled and cherished for the rest of her life.
Basil - From feeling worthless to Winner!
He had just about given up

Well what a long way my boy has come.As many of you know Duncan joined my family at Christmas 2018.Duncan was probably one of the most awful cases of animal abuse
the charity had come across. He was owned by a family who allowed him to get into such a
state, kept him chained up, fed him on bread, never walked him and left him with a chronic ear, eye and skin infection - quite frankly we were all so shocked at his condition.
However we were not going to give up on him and we managed to get him to safety where he started to receive all the medical care he needed.
It was a long road ahead but he improved a tiny bit each day. He was soon strong enough to go into foster care and he was given all the love, care and support he needed.
Duncan joined my family and his care continued. When he arrived there was still some way to go as he was still
underweight, his back legs could not support his weight and his skin condition needed to be controlled.
Over the months his strength has improved, he is a nice healthy weight, his coat is super soft but best of all my family just love him to bits.
He takes every new experience in his stride, he loves Molly and Maisie and they adore him, he really enjoys his walks and meeting people and saying hello to everyone.
Duncan is a true fighter with the character and heart of a lion. He is very much part of my family and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Billy and Megan have both come such a long way from when they were first bought to the attention of the charity. They have both suffered at the hands of humans and to think anyone could be so cruel to them is beyond me.
When found Billy was starving and did not have long to live - we got to him just in time and Megan was not looked after and was in a terrible state but luckily for them the Happy Paws Rescue Machine went into overdrive to save them both.
Billy was homed first with a wonderful family who gave him such an amazing life - then Megan was offered a home.
These two beautiful souls now have the life they so deserve and it’s simply amazing that they have been brought together thanks to the amazing support the charity enjoys.
This is rescue at it’s very best and we could not be happier xx

HAPPY PAWS DOES THE i360 ABSEIL
IN BRIGHTON

Six months ago Sarah Padget (aka Quita and Quinn’s Mum) suggested organising a big fundraiser for the charity and thought the i360 would be a great idea.
We put it to our supporters and the response was incredible.Sarah was kind enough to arrange the event, have the t-shirts
made up, design the banners and make sure everyone was updated.
Isla Donald kindly made sure our golden kids did not feel left out and had some Happy Paws bandanas made up.
On the day the 21 brave Happy Paws supporters all turned up in their t- shirts and were all up for the challenge.
We all watched as the pod took our friends up 450 feet - it was a little windy but everyone stepped up to the plate and they were ALL simply amazing!
The supporters on the ground cheered everyone down with football terrace enthusiasm!
The last one down was Trish and she strapped BB bear to her harness and down they came!
It was a wonderful day filled with courage, laughter, friendship and fun!
Team i360 have raised £8000 and we could not be happier.
