INSTRUCCIONES DE SEGURIDAD IMPORTANTELea antes de operar el equipo
1. Lea estas instrucciones.
2. Guarde estas instrucciones.
3. Preste atención a todas las advertencias.
4. Siga todas las instrucciones.
5. No use este aparato cerca del agua.
6. Límpielo solamente con un paño seco.
7. No bloquee ninguno de los orificios de ventilación. Instálelo de
acuerdo con las instrucciones de los fabricantes.
8. No lo instale cerca de fuentes de calor, tales como radiadores,
compuertas de tiro (registros) de calor, estufas u otros aparatos

9. No anule el objetivo de seguridad del enchufe polarizado o de
conexión a tierra. Un enchufe polarizado tiene dos paletas, una

11. Sólo use aditamentos o accesorios especificados por el fabricante.
12. Utilice sólo un carro, soporte, trípode, repisa o mesa
especificados por el fabricante o que se vendan junto
con el aparato. Si usa el carro, tenga precaución cuando
mueva la combinación carro/aparato para evitar lesiones
si éste se vuelca.
13. Desenchufe este aparato durante las tormentas eléctricas o cuando no
se use durante largos períodos.
14. Deje que personal calificado realice todo el servicio. Es necesario
que el aparato reciba servicio si se ha dañado en algún modo, como
cuando se daña el cable o enchufe de suministro de corriente, se ha
derramado líquido u objetos han caído dentro él, cuando el aparato ha
estado expuesto a lluvia o humedad, no opera bien o se ha caído.
15. Es posible que este producto contenga plomo y mercurio. La

16. Daños que requieran servicio - El aparato debe recibir servicio de

17. Inclinación/estabilidad - Todos los televisores deben cumplir con
las normas de seguridad generales recomendadas internacionalmente
en cuanto a las propiedades de inclinación y estabilidad del diseño de
su gabinete.
• No comprometa estas normas de diseño aplicando una fuerza de
tracción excesiva a la parte delantera o superior del gabinete lo que
finalmente puede hacer que el producto se vuelque.
• Además, no se ponga en peligro usted mismo o a sus niños colocando
equipos electrónicos o juguetes sobre el gabinete. Dichos artículos
pueden caer inesperadamente desde la parte superior del producto y
dañar el producto y/o causar lesiones personales.
18. Montaje en la pared o cielorraso - El aparato se debe montar en
una pared o cielorraso únicamente como lo recomienda el fabricante.
19. Líneas de energía eléctrica - Una antena exterior se debe ubicar

20. Conexión a tierra de la antena exterior - Si se conecta una
antena exterior o un sistema de cable al producto, asegúrese de
que la antena o el sistema de cable estén conectados a tierra para
proporcionar cierta protección contra sobrevoltajes y acumulación de
cargas electrostáticas. En la Sección 810 del Código Eléctrico Nacional,
ANSI/NFPA 70, se proporciona información sobre la adecuada
conexión a tierra de las esteras y estructuras de apoyo, conexión a
tierra del alambre de acometida a una unidad de descarga de antena,
tamaño de los conectores de conexión a tierra, ubicación de la unidad

21. Entrada de objetos y líquidos - Se debe tener cuidado de que no

Risk of injury or damage to the TV! Two people are required to lift and carry • a TV that weighs more than 55 lbs. When stand mounting the TV, use only • the supplied stand. Secure the stand to the TV tightly. Place the TV on a � at, level surface that can support the combined weight of the TV and the stand. When wall mounting the TV, use only a • wall mount that can support the weight of the TV. Secure the wall mount to a wall that can support the combined weight of the TV and wall mount. Koninklijke Philips Electronics N.V. bears no responsibility for improper wall mounting that results in accident, injury or damage.
Risk of injury to children! Follow these precautions to prevent the TV from toppling over and causing injury to children:
Never place the TV on a surface covered • by a cloth or other material that can be pulled away. Ensure that no part of the TV hangs over • the edge of the surface. Never place the TV on tall furniture (such • as a bookcase) without anchoring both the furniture and TV to the wall or a suitable support. Educate children about the dangers of • climbing on furniture to reach the TV.
Risk of overheating! Never install the TV in a con� ned space. • Always leave a space of at least 4 inches or 10 cm around the TV for ventilation. Ensure curtains or other objects never cover the ventilation slots on the TV.
Risk of damage to the TV! Before you connect the TV to the power • outlet, ensure that the power voltage matches the value printed on the back of the TV. Never connect the TV to the power outlet if the voltage is different.

Safety Risk of electric shock or � re!
Never expose the TV to rain or water. • Never place liquid containers, such as vases, near the TV. If liquids are spilt on or into the TV, disconnect the TV from the power outlet immediately. Contact Philips Consumer Care to have the TV checked before use. Never place the TV, remote control or • batteries near naked � ames or other heat sources, including direct sunlight. To prevent the spread of � re, keep candles or other � ames away from the TV, remote control and batteries at all times.
Never insert objects into the ventilation • slots or other openings on the TV. When the TV is swiveled ensure that • no strain is exerted on the power cord. Strain on the power cord can loosen connections and cause arcing.
Risk of short circuit or � re! Never expose the remote control or • batteries to rain, water or excessive heat. Avoid force coming onto power plugs. • Loose power plugs can cause arcing or � re.

Disposal of your old product and batteries

Low temperatures If the TV is transported in temperatures • below 5°C, unpack the TV and wait until the TV temperature matches room temperature before connecting the TV to the power outlet.
Screen care Avoid stationary images as much as • possible. Stationary images are images that remain on-screen for extended periods of time. Examples include: on-screen menus, black bars and time displays. If you must use stationary images, reduce screen contrast and brightness to avoid screen damage. Unplug the TV before cleaning.• Clean the TV and frame with a soft, • damp cloth. Never use substances such as alcohol, chemicals or household cleaners on the TV. Risk of damage to the TV screen! Never • touch, push, rub or strike the screen with any object. To avoid deformations and color fading, • wipe off water drops as soon as possible.

Switch channels Press • CH +/- on the remote control or P/CH +/- on the side of the TV. Enter a channel number using the • Numeric buttons . Press • OK to use the channel grid. Press • BACK A/CH on the remote control to return to the previous channel.

When you use a favourite list, you can only •select those channels in the list (see ‘Select a favorite list’ on page 11 ) .
Switch channels with the channel grid The channel grid allows you to view all available channels in a grid format.

Tip

Remove devices from the home menu If a device is no longer connected to the TV, remove it from the home menu. 1 Press MENU . 2 Press to select a device to remove. 3 Press OPTIONS .
The » [Remove device] list appears. 4 Press OK , then select [Remove] to
remove the device. The selected device is removed from »the home menu.
Change picture and sound settings Change picture and sound settings to suit your preferences. You can apply pre-de� ned settings or change settings manually.
Use smart picture Use smart picture to apply pre-de� ned picture settings. 1 Press PICTURE .
The » [Smart picture] menu appears. 2 Press to select from the following
smart picture settings: • [Personal] : Lists customized picture settings. • [Sports] : Applies rich and dynamic settings. • [Standard] : Adjusts picture settings to suit most environments and types of video. • [Movie] : Applies settings for movie viewing. • [Game] : Applies settings for games. • [Energy saving] : Applies low-energy settings.
3 Press OK to con� rm your choice. The selected smart picture setting is »applied.
5 Use more of your TV
Access TV menus Menus help you to install channels, change picture and sound settings and access other features. 1 Press MENU .
The menu screen appears. »
2 Press to select and navigate
through one of the following menus. • [Watch TV] : Switches back to the antenna source if another source is selected. • [Add new device] : Adds new devices to the home menu. • [Setup] : Accesses menus to change picture, sound and other settings.
3 Press OK to con� rm your choice. 4 Press MENU to exit.
Tip
After selecting • [Add new device] , follow the on-screen instructions to select the correct device and connector.

Summary of picture formats The following picture settings can be con� gured.
Note
Depending on the format of the picture •source, some picture settings are not available.
[Super zoom] : (Not for HD and PC mode.) Removes the black bars on the side of 4:3 broadcasts. There is minimal distortion.
[4:3] : Shows the classic 4:3 format.
[Subtitle zoom] : Displays 4:3 pictures over the full area of the screen, with sub-titles visible. Part of the top of the picture is clipped off.
[Movie expand 14:9] : (Not for HD and PC mode.) Scales 4:3 format to 14:9.
[Movie expand 16:9] : (Not for HD and PC mode.) Scales 4:3 format to 16:9.
[Wide screen] : Scales 4:3 format to 16:9.
[Unscaled] : For HD and PC mode only, and in selected models only. Allows maximum sharpness. Some distortion may be present due to the broadcaster’s systems. Set your PC resolution to wide screen mode for best results.
Manually adjust picture settings 1 Press MENU . 2 Press to select [Setup] >
[Picture] . The » [Picture] menu appears.
3 Press to select from the following settings and adjust: • [Smart picture] : Accesses pre-de� ned smart picture settings. • [Backlight] : Adjusts the backlight. • [Contrast] : Adjusts the intensity of bright areas, keeping dark areas unchanged. • [Brightness] : Adjusts the intensity and details of dark areas. • [Color] : Adjusts color saturation. • [Tint] : Adjusts the color balance in an image. • [Sharpness] : Adjusts sharpness in the image. • [Noise reduction] : Filters and reduces noise in an image. • [Color temperature] : Introduces more orange tones ( [Warm] ) or blue tones ( [Cool] ). • [Dig.CrystalClear] : Adjusts picture quality to optimal contrast, color and sharpness.
• [Dynamic contrast] : Enhances contrast. • [Dynamic backlight] : Adjusts brightness of the TV backlight to match lighting conditions. • [Color enhancement] : Makes colors more vivid and improves the details in bright colors. You can switch this feature on or off.
• [PC mode] : Adjusts picture settings when a PC is connected to the TV. • [Picture format] : Changes the picture format. • [Horizontal shift] : Adjusts the picture horizontally for PC-VGA or HD input. • [Vertical shift] : Adjusts the picture vertically for PC-VGA or HD input.

• [Surround] : Enables spatial sound. • [Auto volume] : Automatically reduces sudden volume changes, for example, when switching channels. • [Delta volume] : Levels out volume differences between channels or connected devices. Switch to the connected device before you change the delta volume.
Create and use list of favorite channels You can create a list of your preferred TV channels so that you can � nd those channels easily.
Select a favorite list 1 When watching TV, press OK to display
the channel grid. 2 Press OPTIONS .

3 Press to select [Select list] , then press OK to enter.

4 Select [Favorite] , then press OK . Only channels in the favorite list »appear in the channel grid.

The favorite channel grid is empty until you •add channels into the favorite lists.

Use smart sound Use smart sound to apply pre-de� ned sound settings. 1 Press SOUND .
The » [Smart sound] menu appears.
2 Press to select a smart sound setting:
• [Standard] : Adjusts sound settings to suit most environments and types of audio. • [News] : Applies settings for spoken audio, such as news. • [Movie] : Applies settings for movies. • [Personal] : Applies the settings that were customized in the sound menu.
3 Press OK to con� rm your choice. The selected smart sound setting is »applied.
Manually adjust sound settings 1 Press MENU . 2 Press to select [Setup] > [Sound] .
The » [Sound] menu appears.
3 Press to select and adjust: • [Smart sound] : Accesses pre-de� ned smart sound settings. • [Bass] : Adjusts the bass level. • [Treble] : Adjusts the treble level. • [Volume] : Adjusts the volume. • [Balance] : Adjusts the balance of the right and left speakers. • [SAP] : Selects a second broadcast audio language. • [Mono/Stereo] : Selects mono or stereo if stereo broadcast is available. • [TV speakers] : Sets the TV speakers on or off, or outputs sound to an EasyLink-compliant device. Easylink must be activated in the preferences menu.

Note
To disable the clock, repeat the above •procedure.
Use timers You can set timers to switch the TV to standby at a speci� ed time.
Tip
Set the TV clock before you use timers. •
Automatically switch the TV to standby (sleep timer) Sleep timer switches the TV to standby after a pre-de� ned period of time.
Tip
You can switch off your TV earlier or reset the •sleep timer during the countdown.
1 Press MENU . 2 Press to select [Setup] >
[Features] > [Sleep timer] . The » [Sleep timer] menu appears.
3 Press to set the sleep time. The sleep timer can be up to 180 »minutes in steps of � ve minutes. If set to zero, the sleep timer is switched off.
4 Press OK to switch on the sleep timer. The TV switches to standby after the »speci� ed time.
4 Select [Mark as favorite] , then press OK . The channel is added to the favorite »list.
Note
All favorite channels are marked by an asterisk •in the channel grid.

View closed captions (subtitles) The caption service displays transmitted closed caption text. The captioned text can be displayed permanently or only when the TV is muted.

This television provides a display of television •closed captioning that conforms with the EIA-608 standard and in accordance with Sections 15.119 of the FCCrules. If you connect your set-top box via HDMI or •component video input, you cannot select closed caption through the TV. You can select closed caption through the set-top box only. The captions do not always use correct •spelling and grammar. Not all TV programs and product commercials •include closed caption information. Use Philips EasyLink Your TV supports Philips EasyLink, which uses the HDMI CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) protocol. EasyLink-compliant devices that are connected through HDMI connectors can be controlled by a single remote control.
Note
The EasyLink-compliant device must be •switched on and selected as the source. Philips does not guarantee 100% •interoperability with all HDMI CEC devices.
EasyLink features One-touch play When you connect your TV to devices that support one-touch play, you can control your TV and the devices with one remote control. One-touch standby When you connect your TV to devices that support standby, you can use your TV remote control to put your TV and all connected HDMI devices in standby mode. System audio control When you connect your TV to HDMI CEC compliant devices, your TV can switch automatically to play audio from the connected device. To use one-touch audio, you must map the audio input from the connected device to your TV. You can use the remote control from the connected device to adjust the volume.

To remove the logos and images, set the •location of your TV to home. 1. Press MENU . 2. Select [Setup] > [Installation] > [Preferences] > [Location] . 3. Select [Home] , then press OK .
TV channel issues Previously installed channels do not appear in the channel list:
Check that the correct channel list is •selected.
Picture issues The TV is on, but there is no picture:
Check that the antenna is properly •connected to the TV. Check that the correct device is selected •as the TV source.
There is sound but no picture: Check that the picture settings are •correctly set.
There is poor TV reception from an antenna connection:
Check that the antenna is properly •connected to the TV. Loud speakers, unearthed audio devices, •neon lights, high buildings and other large objects can in� uence reception quality. If possible, try to improve the reception quality by changing the antenna direction or moving devices away from the TV. If reception on only one channel is poor, •� ne tune this channel.
There is poor picture quality from connected devices:
Check that the devices are connected •properly. Check that the picture settings are •correctly set.
9 Troubleshooting This section describes commonly encountered issues and accompanying solutions.
General TV issues The TV does not switch on:
Disconnect the power cable from the •power outlet. Wait for one minute then reconnect it. Check that the power cable is securely •connected.
The remote control is not working properly: Check that the remote control batteries •are correctly inserted according to the +/- orientation. Replace the remote control batteries if •they are � at or weak. Clean the remote control and TV sensor •lens.
The standby light on the TV blinks red: Disconnect the power cable from the •power outlet. Wait until the TV cools down before reconnecting the power cable. If the blinking reoccurs, contact Philips Consumer Care.
You forgot the code to unlock the TV lock feature
Enter ‘8888’. • The TV menu is in the wrong language.
Change the TV menu to your preferred • language .
When turning the TV on/off/to standby, you hear a creaking sound from the TV chassis:
No action is required. The creaking sound •is normal expansion and contraction of the TV as it cools and warms up. This does not impact performance.

If there are intermittent sound •disruptions, check that output settings from the HDMI device are correct. If you use an HDMI-to-DVI adapter •or HDMI to DVI cable, check that an additional audio cable is connected to AUDIO IN (mini-jack only).
Computer connection issues The computer display on the TV is not stable:
Check that your PC uses the supported •resolution and refresh rate. Set the TV picture format to unscaled. •
