A region is a area of land that has many things in common.

The five regions of the US are Northeast, Southeast, Southwest, West, and the Middle - West.

The 4 regions in New Jersey are the Atlantic Costal Plains, Piedmont, Highlands, and Ridge and Valley

Northeast

Appalachian Mountains are found in most of the states in this region

Coastal plain- flat low land along the edge of the Atlantic Ocean

We live in this region

Four seasons- winter, spring, summer, fall

Warm all year

Crisscross with rivers

Central Plains- in the east, low elevation produces corn

One of the most famous landmarks in this region is the Grand Canyon

Mostly made up of high plateaus, plains, and deserts

Landforms include mountains, plateaus , and deserts

Rocky Mountains appear in this region as well as the West
