is about making best use of

information andcommunication technologies

for manipulating information

to manage water

in the environment

- is about implementing IWRM(integrated water resourcesmanagement)




Our management of water is limited

• We cannot manage water in the

oceans and in the atmosphere – even though we can and do

influence such water

• We manage water best in theartificial (urban/reservoir/ irrigation) systems we create

– and to a lesser extent incatchments, rivers, groundwaterand coastal waters
