Greetings from GCCI! It is a great relief for industries, business fraternity & common public at

large on calling off transport’s strike after eight days. Hope, Government will sincerely address their genuine grievances in coming days.

To press forth the agenda of our Chamber and to send across our

perspectives & concerns to the who’s who at all important platforms we keep meeting them on regular basis and push pending issues for their resolution. Some of them are:

Meeting with Shri Vijaybhai Rupani, Chief Minister of Gujarat & other ministers @

Gandhinagar Meeting with Shri C R Chaudhary, MOS for Commerce & Industry @ Delhi Meeting with Shri Rajan Gohain, MOS Railway @ Delhi Meetings with Shri Sanjay Bhatia, Chairman, Deendayal Port Trust

Revival in industrial activity & hike in freight rates seen supporting domestic freight sector.

It is a matter of concern for trade and industry fraternity that as far as the

“Ease of Doing Business” ranking is concerned, Gujarat’s ranking vis-à-vis other states is sliding. The government and business fraternity shall have to work jointly to bring it to upward position once again.

Tariff war and retaliatory actions from USA & China can disrupt world

trade. India has to act cautiously to maintain balance. Next Regional Council Meeting of Gujarat Chamber is likely to be held at

our Chamber on 11th August, 2018. New Issues / Problems related to trade & Commerce may kindly be sent to Chamber Office by 5th August, 2018 for representation at Regional Council Platform.
