How To Use Your REGINA Polisher-Scrubber-Rug ShampooerSpeeds to perform the various floorconditioning tasks.

Three speed models use:HI-Polishing, Buffing, Floor ReconditioningMED-Rug ShampooingLa-Waxing and Scrubbing

SCRUBBINGUse REGINA coarse bristle Flo-thrubrushes or scrubbing pads.

Dispense a mild solution of soap or de·ergentsparingly to floor. Start polisher. If yourRegina floor machine is equipped with adispenser, the scrubbing solution may bedispensed directly from the dispenser into theflo-thru brushes. If not, apply scrubbing solu·tion directly to floor. To avoid splashing onwalls, dispense liquid a few feet from baseboard. Scrub approximately 25% of yourfloor area at a time. Before starting new area, remove dirty suds with cloth or squeeze rinsewith clean water and repeat operation.

Wood floors should never be scrubbed withsoap and water. Clean with recommendedsolvent.

Two speed models use:

HI-Polishing, Buffing, Rug Shampooing,Floor Reconditioning

LO-Waxing and Scrubbing

One speed models: Multi-purpose use.

STEEL WOOL PADSFor hard-to·clean areas, Regina steel woolpads can be attached to scrubbing brushes. This will provide deep-down cleaning. Youmay also use steel wool pads for removinghardened wax that defies normal scrubbing.Steel wool pads will prove handy in removingscuff marks which cannot be removed byordinary soap or detergent.

WAXINGBefore applying wax, the floor should be cleanand thoroughly dry. Apply a

WAXING(Continlled fro III preceding page)small amount of wax to get a thin. even coat- avoid over-waxing. Using clean, dry, coarse bristle brushes, rub wax thoroughlyinto the pores and allow to dry approximately30 minutes. Paste wax may be applied byspreading approximately a tablespoon of waxdirectly on scrubbing and waxing brushes orsteel wool pads. Rub into floor so that athin. even coat is obtained. Allow time to drybefore polishing.

Several applications of wax will be necessaryfor new unfinished or newly sheilacked hardwood floors. Allow each coat to dry thoroughly before polishing and before rewaxing.

CAUTION: Some liquid waxes are made to beapplied with strokes of an applicator. Do notapply the non-scuff type self-polishing waxeswith your dispenser. Avoid use of spiritwaxes on asphalt or rubber tile - use emulsion waxes only. Read directions of wax youare about to use.

POLISHINGUse REGINA fine bristle brushes.

When the wax is dry, attach clean polishingbrushes and polish the floor thoroughly. Goback and forth over the floor and polish untila hard sparkling finish is obtained. YourRegina floor polisher has been scientificallybalanced for uniform polishing.

BUFFINGTo obtain a high lustre shine attach Reginafelt buffing pads and buff the area alreadypolished. This operation may be repeatedseveral times before rewaxing is necessary.Buffing your floors will restore the lustre ofthe original waxing and improve the finish. If your Polisher is equipped with lambs woolbuffing pads, they may be used for obtainingan even brighter shine. Lambs wool pads canalso be used for polishing table tops, counters, desks, etc.

DRY CLEANING RUGSUse Regina Flo·Thru Rug ShampooBrushes(White P.E.X. Bristles)1. Attach clean rug cleaning brushes and set

polisher on rug to be cleaned.

2. For best results, apply compound according to manufacturer's instructions. Applyon an area approximately one-quarter ofrug or carpet.

3. Move polisher slowly over rug to be cleanedand operate from the center towards theedges. Do not bear down, contact withrug is sufficient. Use compound generously so that brushes remain well lubricated. After having completed one section, start another until rug has been completely cleaned. Compound should remainon rug for specified time directed by manufacturer, then thoroughly vacuumed whendry. If rug is extremely soiled, a secondapplication may be necessary.

CAUTION: Certain rug cleaning compoundscannot be used on carpets made of syntheticfiber.

SHAMPOOING RUGSUse Regina Flo-Thru Rug ShampooBrushes(White P.E.X. Bristles)

Your new Regina floor machine will not onlyscrub and polish floors but will also beautifully shampoo your carpets. Just follow thedirections for a fine professional job. (SomeRegina units do not come equipped for rugshampooing.)

(See REGINA accessory order form enclosedwith your polisher.)

2. Test a small hidden area by applying somesolution and rubbing with a white clothto observe color fastness. Check this samearea with your shampooer to check theeffect of your brushes.

Brush the pile in one direction while stilldamp, allow to dry, and then check forany change in surface texture. If the testis satisfactory, remove furniture or placeheavy plastic, unprinted cardboard, oraluminum under legs to prevent rust spots.

Page 8: Regina Floor Polisher Scrubber Rug Shampooer

You may find that certain stains such asink, fruit, or animal, which have been onthe rug for some time will not be removedby shampooing.

Spots such as grease and chewing gum, which are not water soluble, should be removed with a dry-cleaning fluid. A specialhint for removing gum is to place an icecube over it, when the gum begins tofreeze it may chip off.

3_ Pour liquid to be used into container, fillapproximately three-fourths (%) full, andthen firmly tighten cap.

4. Clean a small area at a time, 3' x 3' orapproximately 1,4 of carpeting area. Donot dispense liquid unless unit is runningand in motion. Move polisher slowly overrug using short overlapping strokes. Thearea should be criss-crossed from left toright to insure uniform overall cleaning.Cleaning solution should be dispensed intermittently until area is covered with athin layer of foam. Operate unit untilfoam has disappeared before starting anew area. The last stroke in each pathshould be in the same direction. Do notoverscrub carpeting!A second application may be necessary inheavily soiled areas_ Do not overwetcarpeting!

5. Do not bear down, contact with carpetingis sufficient. Do not overwet carpeting under-padding may become wet and possibly lead to mildewing, color fading, orstaining.

6. Inaccessible areas, such as those underradiators, can be cleaned using a handbrush dipped in the shampoo solution_

7. Drying time can be decreased by usinga fan or other air moving device or byopening windows. Humidity will also effectdrying time. The best results wilf be obtained if shampooing is done in dryweather.

S. To avoid streaked appearance when dry, each cleaned area should be fluffed, brushin the direction of the pile, using a dampcloth or brush_ Tl1is will "set" the pile inone direction. Place a piece of heavycardboard or other moisture-resistant material under brushes if set~ing unit oncarpeting.

9_ When thoroughly dry, vacuum the carpeting with your Electrikbroom to removepowdery residue and suspended soil and tofluff nap.

10_ Overnight drying of your carpeting is preferable whenever possible, but if it becomes necessary to walk on it beforecompletely dry, place towels or whitecloths on the traffic area.

11. Dispenser, hose, and nozzle must be thoroughly cleaned after each use and shouldnever be stored filled with liquid. Removecontainer from unit, fill with warm water, and allow water to flow through hose andnozzle to insure thorough cleaning. Besure container and hose are completelydry_

IMPORTANT: Dispenser, hose and nozzle mustbe thoroughly cleaned after each use andshould never be stored filled with liquid.(Regina recommends the use of new formulaRegina Rug Shampoo.)

HOW TO CARE FORYOUR POLISHER-SCRUBBERRUG SHAMPOOERTo clean brushes, washin warm water and soap.CAUTION: Do not usehot water. Shake out andstand on bristles to dry.Don't force dry by usingoven or radiator.
