HONORARY SECRETARY’S REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2018 – 2019
Respected President, Immediate Past President, Past Presidents, Vice Presidents, Zonal Chairpersons,
National Governing Council Members and members,
It is my great privilege to present a brief report to this Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the activities of
our society for the year 2018 - 2019.
I am proud to be associated with this society, which is serving the welding fraternity in its second decade
of existence. It has a strong belief in its federal structure.
As you are aware, the society has been recognised as “Charitable Trust” under Sec 12 A of IT Act 1961 and
all our activities are aimed to enhance and spread the welding knowledge among the cross section of
people in this part of the country. It gives me immense pleasure and satisfaction to present the details of
the activities performed during the year 2018 – 2019.
1.0 ORGANISATION OF IWS
1.1 MEMBERSHIP
As on March 31, 2019, the number of individual life members of the society stands at 1827 and 21
life corporate members. During the year, 54 individual life members, and 1 life corporate member
joined IWS. Here, I appeal all our members to bring in more life members to the Society.
1.2 IWS REACHES YOUNGSTERS THROUGH STUDENT FORUMS
IWS is sustaining its efforts to take the welding technology to the doorsteps of the budding
engineers by launching student forum at various engineering colleges and conducting free seminars
and technical lectures, as detailed below.
1.2.1 IWS STUDENT FORUM AT C A ABDUL HAKEEM COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, VELLORE
IWS Student Forum was inaugurated at C A Abdul Hakeem College of Engineering, Vellore by the
Ranipet Centre on 21st July 2018 at the college premises.
This was followed by a free seminar on “Recent trends in Welding technologies”. It was well
attended by second year Mechanical students and Aeronautical engineering departments.
The Principal, Dr. A. Rajesh, and Mr. T. Sankar, Associate Professor /
HOD –Mech chaired the programme. Mr. M. Valavan, Deputy General
Manager – Production, BAP-BHEL, Ranipet and Hon. Secretary of IWS
Ranipet Centre was the chief guest. Mr. N. Balamurugan, Sr. Engineer -
Production, BAP-BHEL, Ranipet and Mr. D. Parameshwaran of BAP-
BHEL, Ranipet graced the programme. The programme commenced
with salutation to the Almighty – Qirath, recited by Mr. Sheik Kaja Nawaz, II Mech B sec, followed
by Tamil devotional song.
Mr. I. Rajkumar, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering welcomed the
gathering. Dr. A. Rajesh and Mr. T. Sankar honored the chief guest with a shawl and memento.
Mr. M. Valavan, inaugurated the student forum and delivered a lecture on “Recent Trends in
Welding Technologies” and shared his deep knowledge about welding.

Mr. N. Balamurugan, highlighted the welding basics and applications to
the students in his lecture. The students interacted with the experts
and the resource personnel were very kind enough to clarify the
student queries. Mr. R. Umamageshwaran, Assistant Professor
delivered the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with the
National Anthem.
1.2.2 IWS STUDENT FORUM AT ADHI COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, CHENNAI
IWS Student forum was inaugurated at Adhi College of Engineering and Technology, Oragadam,
Chennai on 02-08-2018 by the Chennai Centre in a colourful function.
Dr. S. Harikrishnan, Professor & Head – Department of Mechanical
Engineering of the college welcomed the gathering.
Dr. I. Saravanan, Professor, introduced the Guests of Honour of the
occasion, Dr. Murugaiyan Amirthalingam, Professor, IIT-Madras and
Mr. R. G. Ganesan, Secretary-IWS Chennai Centre and he shared his
experiences with IWS and the importance of membership in IWS.
Mr R G Ganesan inaugurated the forum and Dr. Murugaiyan
Amirthalingam delivered a technical lecture. ID cards were
distributed to all the student members. All the Students and the
Staff of Mechanical Department attended the inaugural function.
1.2.3 IWS STUDENT FORUM AT HMR IT & M, NEW DELHI
The Northern Zone of IWS has launched its First Student Forum at HMR
Institute of Technology and Management,
New Delhi during September 2018, under
the initiative of Mr. M P Jain, vice president.
The inauguration as followed by a free
technical programme on welding. Experts
from the field of welding delivered the lectures. Senior members of IWS
including Shri S K Goel participated in the programme along with the principal and faculty of the
college. More than 100 students participated in the event.
1.2.4 IWS STUDENT FORUM AT RAMCO INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, RAJAPALAYAM
One more Student Forum was inaugurated at Ramco Institute of Technology, Rajapalayam, Tamil
Nadu on 3rd January 2019. Mr. A. Maruthamuthu, Chairman (IWS, SZ) & then General Manager
(DTG), Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, Tiruchirappalli inaugurated the centre in the presence of
Mr N Rajasekaran, Hon. Secretary (IWS) and Mr R Ravibharath, Hon. Treasurer of IWS, SZ.
In his address, he explained the importance of becoming the
members of Indian Welding Society. He said that students will
find it beneficial to attend workshop, conferences and
technical events organised by Indian Welding Society Students
Forum. Students will get industrial exposure in advanced
welding Technology and its applications by attending technical

talks by industry experts. Dr. N. Jawahar, Principal, Ramco Institute of Technology presided over
the function. Mr. N. Rajasekaran, and Mr. R. Ravibharath, offered their felicitations.
Mr. N Rajasekaran, delivered a lecture on "Advanced Welding Processes for Power Plant
Equipments". 76 students and one faculty member were inducted in the forum.
1.2.5 IWS STUDENT FORUM AT NMAM INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY NITTE, MANGALURU
Indian Welding Society extended support to the Department of Mechanical Engineering of NMAM
Institute of Technology NITTE and M/s Fronius India Pvt. Limited, Pune for establishing a centre for
welding technology named “NMAMIT-FRONIUS Centre for Welding Technology”, which became
operational on 28th June 2018. The centre was inaugurated by Shri S. Gopinath, Former President
of Indian Welding Society, Advisor NMAMIT & Adjunct Professor in the presence of Dr. Niranjan
N.Chiplunkar, Principal-NMAMIT, Vice Principals Dr. I.R Mithanthaya and Dr. Shrinivasa Rao B.R.,
Registrar Sri Yogeesh Hegde, Special Officer Sri Aravind Hegde, Dr. Sudesh Bekal-Dean (R&D), HoD
of Mechanical Engineering Dr. Shashikantha Karinka, HoDs of
other departments, Dr. G. Ravichandran- Former General
Manager-WRI Tiruchy and Adjunct Professor-NMAMIT, IWS
representatives Mr. S. Singaravelu and Mr. Srinivasan, Fronius
representatives Mr. Rahul Kulkarni - Segment Manager of
Fronius, Mr. Rahul Mehta and Fronius-Mangaluru region
representative Mr. Abhay Pai, and faculty members of the
Mechanical Engineering Department.
2.0 INITIATIVES FOR HR DEVELOPMENT IN WELDING
2.1 STRUCTURED COURSES
The Southern Zone conducted Welding Technology for Fresh Engineers Course (EC 052) during
11.02.2019 – 17.02.2019. 31 members from various engineering
colleges and industries have attended the course and got benefited by
the heavily subsidized course.
Under the MoU with IWS, the CoEWT
Coimbatore centre conducted Welding Technology for Fresh
Engineers Course during 03.09.2018 – 07.09.2018. 7 participants
attended the course and got benefited.
2.2 SHORT TERM CERTIFICATE COURSE IN WELDING TECHNOLOGY (Level-1) FOR PRACTICING
WELDERS AT NORTH EAST INDIA
Continuing its focus on empowering the youths in the north eastern part of the country, the
Northern Zone of the society through the Guwahati Centre
conducted a short term certificate course in welding technology
from October 3, 2018 to October 14, 2018. The event was
conducted at IIT, Guwahati. 18 participants attended the course
and got benefitted. Theoretical input was given in the afternoon
sessions and practicals were conducted in the morning sessions. On
13th Oct 2018, the students undergone the theory examination and practical examination on 14th

October 2018. Mr. M P Jain, Vice President addressed the participants during the valediction and
distributed the certificates to the qualified welders.
2.3 ADD-ON COURSE IN WELDING FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS AT KSRCT, TIRUCHENGODE
The pilot scale programme taken up by IWS at the KSRCT, Tiruchengode was a success. The first
batch of students completed their course work successfully in the ADD-ON Courses in welding
technology for under graduate students. Under the programme, the students are offered courses
in advanced welding technologies and can swap regular subjects in 3:1 ratio. Our Congratulations
to Mr. S Singaravelu for making the programme successful by his sustained co-ordination. Now
IWS is ready to launch the programme in engineering colleges. The programme has attracted more
than 70 students in its 2nd year.
2.4 WORKSHOPS, SEMINARS, SYMPOSIA, etc.
2.4.1 SOJOM 2018
SOJOM 2018, International Symposium on the Joining of Materials, was successfully conducted at
Tiruchirappalli during 27-28, April’ 18 with support from the organizers - Southern Zone of the
Indian Welding Society (IWS), the Tiruchirappalli chapter of the Indian Institute of Metals (IIM), the
Welding Research Institute (WRI) and Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL).
Shri R Raja Manohar, Executive Director of BHEL
Tiruchirappalli, was the Chief Guest for the wonderful
inauguration. He delivered the inaugural address and also
released the souvenir.
Prof S Raman Sankaranarayanan (NIT Tiruchy), as co-
chairman of the organizing committee SOJOM 2018,
extended a warm welcome to delegates, experts,
sponsors, and the entire team of IWS assembled for SOJOM. Shri A Maruthamuthu (GM, BHEL) and
Chairman IWS Southern Zone delivered the Presidential address. Shri R Subbarayalu (WRI BHEL),
Chairman of the Technical Committee, listed the technical details of the programme. Special
message from Shri Subrata Biswas, Director (E, R&D) was
read out during the inaugural session. Shri K Ganesh Kumar,
Hon. Secretary of IWS, SZ and Convenor, proposed the vote
of thanks.
More than two hundred delegates participated and 107
papers were presented in SOJOM 2018. Around eighteen
experts from leading industries/institutions delivered key note lectures before start of each theme.
More than fifty students / engineers have been extended complimentary registration for SOJOM –
in the interest of knowledge sharing and skill upgradation. In the forenoon session of first day, Shri
R Easwaran (former Head WRI BHEL) was awarded the S K Mazumder Memorial Lecture Award, in
recognition of his contribution from the Industry side and leadership role in the field of welding. Dr
V Muthupandi (NIT Tiruchy) was awarded the Dr Achar Memorial Award, for his contribution to
welding research from the academic side. During the Awards ceremony, Shri S M Mahajan (retired

ED BHEL), a founder member of the IWS, recalled the evolution of the welding industry in India, in
a very nostalgic style. Experts from BHEL, WRI, NPCL, IGCAR, TVS, NITT, IIT Delhi, Annamalai
University, Sastra University Thanjavur delivered informative technical talks in the domain of
welding. Two Parallel technical sessions were organized to cover maximum number of authors to
present their innovative work to the welding fraternity.
The deliberations of SOJOM 2018 was encompassed the
following areas like 3D Printing/Rapid Proto Type/Additive
Manufacturing, Aerospace Sector, Automotive Sector, Defence
Sector, Energy & Power Sector, Nuclear Sector, Petro-chemical
sector, Ship building Sector, Skill development, Training &
Education. Every Session recognised the BEST PAPER with an
award. Valedictory Function was held at 4.30 PM on the second day. Prof V Muthupandi, Co
Chairman Technical Committee welcomed the gathering. Dr S Sakthivel, Director of Boilers,
Government of Tamil Nadu was the Chief Guest for the valedictory function and highlighted the
importance of symposium on the fabrication of Boiler Components as per the Standards and quoted
various issues encountered in operation of boilers. Shri R Easwaran (former Head WRI BHEL)
summed up the total symposium. Shri N Parameswaran, Co Convenor proposed vote of thanks
during the valedictory event. More than twenty industries supported the SOJOM 2018 symposium.
Free delegates were allowed from IWS student forums.
2.4.2 INTERNATIONAL WELDING SYMPOSIUM 2018 (IWS 2K18) AT MUMBAI
The International Welding Symposium 2018 (IWS 2K18) was successfully conducted at Mumbai
during 27- 29 November 2018 in association with the Welding Research Institute (WRI), Messe
Dusseldorf India, Messe Essen, DVS and Asian Welding Federation. Shri Atul Sobti, Chairman &
Managing Director of BHEL Tiruchirappalli, inaugurated the
symposium. Shri Subrata Biswas, President (IWS) and Director
(E, R & D), BHEL presided over the function. Mr. P K Supali, Vice
Chairman, IWS, WZ, welcomed the gathering. Mr. Thomas
Schlitt, Managing Director, Messe Duesseldorf India and Mr.
Torben Brinkmann,
Head (IEM), Messe Essen GmbH, Germany offered their
felicitations. Mr A Maruthamuthu, Vice President (IWS)
briefed about IWS 2k18. Mr. N Rajasekaran, Hon. Secretary
(IWS) conducted the proceedings and proposed vote of
thanks. Mr. Atul Sobti released the proceedings and Mr M
P Jain, Vice President received the first copy of the
proceedings.
Few of the highlights about IWS 2k18 are as follows.
• It is the 8th in the sequel and 5th consecutive event at Mumbai by IWS, WRI, MDI, ME, DVS
and AWF.

• Dr. V R Krishnan has been conferred with the M. ISMAIL MEMORIAL LIFE TIME ACHIEVEMENT
AWARD 2017.
• Mr. V K Shirgaokar conferred with the FOUNDER PRESIDENT LIFE TIME ACHIEVEMENT
AWARD 2018.
• Mr. S Gopinath former President (IWS) & former ED, BHEL, Tiruchy and Mr R Easwaran,
former Chairman (Technical Committee) were awarded with the IWS MERITORIOUS
SERVICES AWARD 2018 & 2017 respectively.
• Dr. S Rajakumar of CEMAJOR and Mr. Manish Tak of ARCI
received the Young Technologist Awards for institute and
industry categories respectively.
Mr A V Krishnan, Former President, Mr G Rajendran Hon.
Treasurer, Mr Muneesh Narain & Mr V B Tamboli former vice
presidents, Dr. K. Asokkumar, Former Secretary and Mr. S. Singaravelu Vice Chairman, IWS,
SZ were conferred as Fellow Members of IWS.
• In total 93 papers were received and 85 were presented including 8 overseas papers.
• Participation was from 82 organisations and senior consultants. The participants from major
corporate companies in strategic sectors included BHEL, NTPC, DRDO, EIL, BEML, ISRO, HPCL,
Indian Railways, L&T, ADOR, D&H, etc. in the 2018 edition
• 252 delegates registered for the event from all categories and 226 attended the event. Free
Delegates from IWS Student forum were allowed to attend the three-day event.
Mr. D S Honavar delivered the valediction address and
distributed the Young technologist awards and best paper
awards. Mrs. A. Santhakumari, AGM (WRI) & NGC Member
summed up the proceedings. Mr V K Shirgaokar, former vice
president (IWS) presided over the function. Mr Sanjay Kadam,
Hon. Secretary, WZ welcomed the gathering. Mr G Rajendran,
Hon. Treasurer proposed the vote of thanks. Mr. N Rajasekaran, Hon. Secretary conducted the
proceedings.
2.4.3 ONE DAY WORKSHOP ON “WELDING FOR MAINTENANCE” BY NMAM INSTITUTE OF
TECHNOLOGY, MANGALORE
A One-Day Workshop on “Welding for Maintenance” under the auspices
of IWS, Fronius and IWS - NMAMIT Student Forum was organized by
Department of Mechanical Engineering NMAMIT, NITTE on June 28, 2018
at Phalguni Seminar Hall and NMAMIT-FRONIUS Centre for Welding
Technology. The workshop was inaugurated by Shri S. Gopinath, Former
President of Indian Welding Society, Advisor NMAMIT & Adjunct Professor.
Dr. Niranjan N. Chiplunkar, Principal - NMAMIT presided over the function and explained about the
importance of taking the activities further through smaller student work groups so that the students
are skilled at least with the basic needs. He also said that the laboratory is in its first phase of

development with only the basic needs and would be developed in due course into an advanced
centre of welding technology.
Dr. Shashikantha Karinka, Professor and Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering and
Convener of the Workshop, welcomed the gathering and gave an overview of the programme and
activities related to NMAMIT-FRONIUS Centre for Welding Technology.
He also briefed the delegates regarding enrolling for life membership of proposed IWS-Mangaluru
Centre of Indian Welding Society. Dr. Mallikappa, Coordinator of the programme, proposed vote of
thanks. About 57 participants took part in the Workshop, out of which 10 Industrial delegates from
major industries of the region such as MCF, Lamina, BASF, MRPL, etc., 12 Academia delegates from
engineering institutions and polytechnics of the region, 26 Student delegates and 9 internal faculty
members. The programme was compered by Mr. Baskar Achar P, Assistant Professor of Mechanical
Engineering. The programme was attended by Vice Principals of NMAMIT Dr. I. R Mithanthaya and
Dr. Shrinivasa Rao B. R., Dr. A. N. Parameswaran-Director IIC-NMAMIT, Dr. Sudesh Bekal-Dean
(R&D), and Dr. Subrahmanya Bhat- Dean Student Welfare, Dr. G. Ravichandran- Former General
Manager-WRI Tiruchy and Adjunct Professor-NMAMIT, IWS representatives Mr. S. Singaravelu-
Former Additional General Manager of Welding Technology Centre, BHEL and Mr. Srinivasan-
Consultant from IWS.
2.4.4 WORKSHOP ON “RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN WELDING TECHNOLOGY” BY KSRCT STUDENT
FORUM
The KSRCT - IWS Student Forum, ISTE Student Chapter and Department of Mechanical Engineering,
K. S. Rangasamy College of Technology organized a Workshop “Recent Developments in Welding
Technology” on 13.07.2018 at Training Cell Seminar Hall. Mr. N. Rajasekaran Hon. Secretary (IWS)
and Mr. S. Singaravelu, Vice Chairman, IWS, SZ delivered the
lectures.
The inauguration started with invocation song followed by the
welcome address. The guest lecture was preceded by a
felicitation by the Director, Department of Mechanical
Engineering, K. S. Rangasamy College of Technology. “” Advances
in Gas shielded welding processes” and “Advances in Flux Shielded welding processes” were the
main topics covered in the one-day workshop. The Workshop lectures covered the themes like
advancement of welding related technologies and other allied sciences. It facilitated exchange of
ideas, information, development work, offered flexible learning in various aspects of welding and
related technology that suit the requirement of various levels, promoted professional exchange of
information, experience and advanced training, promoted the application of flux shielded welding
process in engineering, its wide exposure testing and its methods in solving quantitative and
qualitative manufacturing problems.
The workshop was coordinated by Dr. K. Mohan, Professor & Faculty Advisor, IWS student Forum
and Mr. R. Prakash, Assistant Professor, K. S. Rangasamy College of Technology. 60 student
members from K. S. Rangasamy college of Technology actively participated in the free workshop.
The workshop concluded with the vote of thanks by Mr. Karthikeyan, Assistant Professor, K. S.
Rangasamy College of Technology.

2.4.5 CII-AOTS TECHNICAL SEMINAR ON “HIGH PRECISION ARC WELDING TECHNOLOGY IN INDIA”
Under the CII – AOTS programme, a technical seminar was organised during 22 – 23 Aug 2018 at
Hotel ITC Grand Chola, Guindy, Chennai. The theme of the seminar was “High Precision Arc Welding
Technology in India”. Invited lectures were delivered by M/s Panasonic, Kobelco and Iwtani.
Besides, professors from JWRI and JWES also delivered lectures. IWS supported the technical
programme by nominating delegates from industry and institute. There was no delegate fee for
the programme.
2.4.6 ONE DAY TECHNICAL SYMPOSIUM “HENOSIS 19” BY DR. N G P INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY
The IWS student forum at Dr NGP Institute of Technology conducted “Henosis ‘19”, a National Level
Technical Symposium, in association with Dr. NGP Institute of Technology and professional bodies
like IEEE, SAE & ISACA on February 2, 2019.
Seven engineering departments of Dr. N.G.P Institute of Technology
jointly organized the several technical and non-technical events of
Henosis ’19. The event aims to encourage the students to exhibit their
talents. Henosis’ 19 provided diversity in the events and opened up
new grounds of exploration and experience for students.
The technical symposium brought together people of varied experiences and provided an
opportunity to everyone to share their thoughts. Mutual participation and high quality
deliberations created inspiring learning environment resulting into innovative ideas. Today’s
industry expects such inputs to bring home new innovations and inventions.
2.4.7 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON EMERGING TRENDS IN ENGINEERING ICETE – 2018 BY NITTE
MANGAULRU STUDENT FORUM
During 14-15, May 2018, with the support of IWS student forum at NITTE, Mangaluru, a 2-day
International Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering - ICETE – 2018 was organised by the
institute. Environment, Energy and Engineering Strategies for Sustainability (E3S) and Drives, Data
Science and Disruptive Technologies for Advancement (D3A) was the theme of the two day
deliberations conducted during 14-15 May 2018.
Prof. Dr. Indrani Karunasagar, Director (R&D), Nitte (Deemed to be University) and Director, Nitte-
Centre for Science Education & Research (N-CSER) inaugurated the conference. Dr. Satoshi Soda,
Professor, Dept. of Environmental Systems Engineering, Ritsumeikan University, Japan, Dr. Kazuhiro
Shimonomura, Professor, Dept. of Robotics, Ritsumeikan University, Japan and Dr. Lin Meng,
Lecturer, Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering, Ritsumeikan University, Japan
delivered the keynote address and expert lectures. Shri N. Vinaya Hegde, Chancellor, Nitte Deemed
to be University & President, Nitte Education Trust presided over the inaugural function.
2.5 FREE TECHNICAL TALKS & LECTURES
Various zones and centres organized free technical talks / lectures during this period. Few of them
are cited below:
2.5.1 A technical lecture on Additive Manufacturing” was organised in association with Institution of
Engineers Coimbatore local Centre on 10/7/2018. Dr. Gopal Magadi, Principal Engineer from
(Regd. No. 41817 / 2002) H 36A, Saket, New Delhi – 110 017

Cameron International Corporation, Houston, USA, delivered the lecture on challenges faced in
additive manufacturing of metal components by various processes including Wire Arc Additive
Manufacturing. He shared his industrial experiences and provided a great awareness about
fabrication of metal components by additive manufacturing among engineers, faculty members and
students.
2.5.2 A technical lecture was organised in association with
Institution of Engineers Coimbatore local Centre on
20/8/2018. Dr. A. Vijai, Associate Professor of Karunya
University delivered a lecture on Composite Materials:
Electromagnetic Applications. He shared his research
experience on fabrication and characterisation of
composites gained in Jeonju University, RoK during his Post-
doctoral fellowship. The lecture was well received by the audience and the lecture session was
more interactive.
2.6 IWS JOURNAL
The Technical Committee has published one E Journal during the year. The balance issues will be
published in due course.
3.0 GET-TOGETHER MEETING WITH OTHER PROFESSIONAL BODIES
3.1 Aayudha Pooja Celebration
On October 18, 2019, on the day of Ayudha Pooja Celebrations, a get-together meeting with other
professional bodies, viz. IIM, IIW and CSI was conducted at the Institutional Building, Kailasapuram
Township, Tiruchy by the Southern zone.
Chairman (IWS, SZ) & Chairmen of other professional bodies and host of senior members from all
professional bodies graced the event.
4.0 NATIONAL GOVERNING COUNCIL MEETING
The National Governing Council met 4 times during the year. The 64TH NGC was conducted on 27th
May 2018, 65th NGC on 22nd September 2018, 66th NGC on 27th November 2018 & 67th NGC on 12th
February 2019.
5.0 IWS DAY CELEBRATIONS
IWS day was celebrated by various zones and centres with programmes.
6.0 NATIONAL / INTERNATIONAL CO-OPERATIONS
Dr. V R Krishnan, has been nominated as Primary Member and Dr. K Asokkumar as Alternate
Member to represent IWS in the MTD 11 committee of BIS from the year 2018-19.
IWS has actively participated in the deliberations of Asian Welding Federation (AWF).
7.0 ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
I sincerely thank Mr. S Biswas, our president for his continuous support, valuable guidance and
taking initiatives to do several things for the development of the society. Thank you sir, for leading

Past president for their valuable guidance. I convey my special thanks to Shri S Sankaran, Past
President, Shri B Pattabhiraman, past president, Shri S M Mahajan past president, Shri M L Gehani,
Past president, Shri J K Nanda, the founder president for their unstinted support and
encouragement. But, for their support, our Society would not have achieved these laurels, marching
ahead in the right direction. My Thanks are due to Mr. A Maruthamuthu, Mr. U D Rane and Mr M
P Jain Vice Presidents for their active involvement and encouragement. I am thankful to Mr R Raja
Manohar former chairmen of IWS SZ for his active support.
My special thanks to Shri G Rajendran. Hon. Treasurer who has managed the resources well to keep
the coffer healthy and getting the accounts audited. I am thankful to Mr R Subbarayalu, Chairman
technical committee, Dr. K Asokkumar, Mr Himanshu Gandhi, Dr. Sunil Pandey, Dr G
Padmanabham, Mr S K Goel and Mr M Kasinathan for their support. The national governing council
members have played a key role in making this year eventful. I thank each and every one of them
for their excellent support. We are thankful for our MOU partners for their support for the cause
of IWS. I thank Mr. Athimoolam Selvaraj & Ms. Pramila for their support for the execution of our
day-to-day activities.
I would like to record my sincere thanks to the office bearers of all Zones and Centres and the office
bearers of the IWS Student Forums for making IWS Vibrant and for having filled the year with
activities. I thank our auditor Shri P K Gupta for auditing our accounts. I would like to thank each
and every member of our Society for the excellent support, co-operation and support extended
towards the activities of our society. Let us resolve to make a strong IWS, so that every member is
able to enjoy the benefits. I record my appreciations and thanks to our international partners,
