COVID-19 GUIDELINESExhibitors should not attend if they have any symptoms of Covid-19

The Cheshire Agricultural Society have put measures in place to reduce the likelihood of virus transmission. However, it remains the responsibility of anybody attending the Show, particularly anyone who falls into the category regarded as ‘vulnerable’, to additionally conduct themselves in a appropriate manner which adheres to current Covid guidelines at the time of the Show.

Always wear a mask in any buildings and in and around the rings. If you are exempt, please ensure you have an exemption card. A government issued card can be printed off and worn on a lanyard or attached to a ring clip.

Abuse towards any committee, show officials or judges will not be tolerated. Anyone found to have been abusive will be asked to leave the showground.

Social distancing may need to be observed depending on restrictions at the time. If you are asked to separate by a show official, please do so.

Pay attention to the signage and any one way systems. You will enter and exit the rings in different places so please pay attention and familiarise yourself on arrival.

Rosettes will not be handed out in the ring, instead they may be collected from the stewards table.

The judge will sanitise between handling each dog.

The exhibitor must show the teeth so that handling is kept to a minimum.

Do not enter the ring until the previous class has safely left the ring.

Social distancing rules will apply meaning exhibitors will be further away from each other and the judge’s table.

We anticipated that these processes mean judging may take longer than is normally expected.

Hand disinfectant facilities will be provided at each ring and around the showground.

Cars will be spaced out to enable exhibitors to set up small tents (no more than 3m long) at the rear of their vehicles. Exhibitors will be expected to remain in this area to cage and groom exhibits while remaining in their own social bubbles rather than congregating around rings. Any damage caused by any tents/gazebos is the responsibility of the people who erected them.

We will refund entry fees, less administration charges, if this show has to be cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions.

• RULES & REGULATIONS • 1. The Show will open at 8.00 am. 2. Dogs will be received at any time but it is the exhibitor's responsibility to ensure that exhibits are available for judging

when required. 3. Judging will commence at 9.30 am. 4. Exhibits may be removed from the Show after their judging has been completed. The Show will close half an hour

after all judging has been completed. 5. Entry Fees: £7.50 first entry per dog; each subsequent breed class with the same dog FREE. Stakes classes: £7.50

per dog as a first entry/£3.00 per class as a subsequent entry. Handling classes: £3.00 per class with the same dog. Catalogues each day: Pre-paid ONLY £4.00 (none for sale on the day). Additional admission tickets: £10.00 per person. Rosette Donations: £2.00 per class.

6. Prize Money: Please see classification for details of Prize Money on offer at this Show. 7. The Committee reserves to itself the right to refuse entries. 8. Puppies under six calendar months of age on the first day of the Show are not eligible for exhibition. 9. The mating of bitches within the precincts of the Show is forbidden. 10. Best Puppy in Show: Where a Best Puppy in Show competition is scheduled the Best Puppy in Show is a puppy

which has competed and has been declared Best Puppy in Breed, Best Any Variety Not Separately Classified Puppy or Best Any Variety Imported Breed Register Puppy. A puppy is a dog of six and not exceeding twelve calendar months of age on the first day of the Show. Where the Best of Breed, Best in Group or Best in Show is a puppy it should automatically be awarded Best Puppy in Breed, Best Puppy in Group and Best Puppy in Show respectively. Where the Reserve Best of Breed, Reserve Best of Group or Reserve Best in Show is a puppy which has only been beaten by an adult dog it should also automatically be Best Puppy in Breed, Best Puppy in Group and Best Puppy in Show respectively. Consequently, selection of Best Puppy in Breed, Best Puppy in Group and Best Puppy in Show must follow the selection of Best of Breed, Best in Group and Best in Show respectively.

Best Puppy in Group and subsequent Group placings must be selected from: a) Those puppies declared Best Puppy in Breed. b) The puppy declared Best Puppy from the Any Variety Not Separately Classified classes in each group. c) The puppy declared Best Puppy from the Any Variety Imported Breed Register classes in each group. Best Puppy in Show must be selected from the Best Puppy in Group winners. 11. Best in Show: The dog declared Best in Show is a dog which has competed and has been declared Best of Breed,

Best Any Variety Not Separately Classified or Best Any Variety Imported Breed Register. a. Shows Judged on the Group System: (Definition; Shows judged on the Group System includes classes for

breeds within more than one group, as defined in Kennel Club Regulation B(A); and require a judge to declare a best of each group after which the exhibits so declared will compete for the award of Best in Show and Reserve Best in Show.)

1) Best of Breed: Where a breed is separately classified a Best of Breed may be declared but only from those dogs which have received a first prize in a breed class at the show. Where separate classes are provided for each sex of a breed a Best of each Sex must be declared.

2) Best of Group: Best of group and subsequent placings must be selected from:- a) The Best of Breed winners in each group. b) The Best dog from the Any Variety Not Separately Classified classes in each group. c) The Best dog from Any Variety Imported Breed Register classes in each group. 3) Best in Show: Best in Show must be selected from the Best of Group winners. Reserve Best in Show must

be selected from the remaining Group winners following the selection for Best in Show. 12. Exhibits will not be admitted to Group or Best in Show competition after a period of ten minutes has elapsed since

the announcement that exhibits are required for judging, unless they have been unavoidably delayed by previous judging not being completed on time, and then only with the special permission of the Show Management.

13. Exhibitors must not pick up dogs by their tails and leads when lifting them nor handle a dog in a manner which causes its feet not to touch the ground when on the move. This is not acceptable. Exhibitors should note that such practice would constitute harsh handling and reports of such practice will be referred to the Committee under Kennel Club Show Regulation F11.

14. All exhibitors must be familiar with Kennel Club Regulation F (Annex B) - Regulations for the Preparation of Dogs for Exhibition.

15. All dogs resident outside of the UK must be issued with a Kennel Club Authority to Compete number before entry to the show/event can be made. All overseas entries without an Authority to Compete number will be returned to the exhibitor/competitor.

16. Dogs in Vehicles on Hot Days. Your dog is vulnerable and at risk during hot weather and the Kennel Club offers the following guidance to help guide you through the do’s and don’ts travelling to and whilst at KC licensed events.• When travelling to a show please take a moment to consider whether the route to the show is on a busy holiday

route, and leave earlier to avoid increased time in traffic jams.• If your vehicle is not air-conditioned seriously consider whether travelling to the show is a good idea at all.• The vehicle should be as fully ventilated as possible, and plenty of stops should be taken, with lots of water

available to drink.

Page 15: Reg. Charity No. 1151672 21st, 22nd & 23rd June 2021 Joint …fossedata.co.uk/downloads/pdf/CHCS_JUN_21_Schedule.pdf · 2021. 4. 23. · Judge: Mr Alan Bamford 33. Junior 35. Open

• Ensure your dog is not sitting in full sunlight. There should be plenty of free flowing air around the dog.• When at the show, never leave your dog in the vehicle.• Keep the dog in the shade - take your own shade for example a large umbrella and always have plenty of water

available to drink so your dog stays well hydrated.• Avoid your dog taking part in unnecessary exertion, or from standing in exposed sunlight for extended lengths

of time. Remember, if you feel hot your dog is very likely to feel much hotter and dehydrated, and this could lead to dire

results. Please look after your dog’s welfare. WARNING: IF YOUR DOG IS FOUND TO BE AT RISK FORCIBLE ENTRY TO YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE NECESSARY WITHOUT LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED.

17. Anyone whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not put a dog’s health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. Breach of Kennel Club Regulations in this respect may be referred to the Board for disciplinary action under the Kennel Club Rules and Regulations. The use of pinch collars, electronic shock collars, or prong collars, is not permitted at any show licensed by the Kennel Club. This shall apply at the venue or within the precincts of the show.

18. Not for Competition entries not accepted.19. No modifications will be made to this Schedule except by permission of the Board of the Kennel Club, which will

be followed by advertisement in the Canine Press wherever possible. 20. The Committee will not be responsible for the loss or injury to any person, dog or property whatsoever, whether

arising from accident or any other cause or from any act or omission of themselves, their officers, agents or others and it is on this understanding only that entries are accepted.

21. Any owner, competitor, handler or other person in charge of a dog is required to remove as soon as possible any fouling caused by their dog(s) at any Kennel Club licensed show within the licensed venue and within the environs of that event including car and caravan parks and approaches.

22. No person shall carry out punitive correction or harsh handling of a dog at any time whilst at the licensed venue including it environs, car and caravan parks and approaches.

23. The owner, exhibitor, handler or other person in charge of a dog at Kennel Club licensed events must at all times ensure that the dog is kept under proper control whilst at the licensed venue, including its environs, car and caravan parks and approaches. This Regulation applies before (at any time during the set up period at the venue), during the event and afterwards (at any time during the breakdown of the event).

24. Designated areas will be provided for the convenience of exhibitors desiring to clean and prepare their dogs for exhibition, and no Exhibitor will be permitted to clean and prepare dogs for exhibition anywhere in the Show except in these designated areas.

25. Should any of the Judges be prevented from fulfilling their engagements, the Committee reserve to themselves the right of appointing other Judges to act. Exhibitors will, in that case, be at liberty to withdraw from competition but no entry fees can be returned (Vide Kennel Club Regulations).

26. Exhibitor Passes: One admission ticket per dog entered. Dogs owned in partnership will only receive one admission ticket to the show, unless more than one dog is entered — NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE.

27. The Veterinary Surgeons have the power to exclude or remove any dog which is not in a fit state for exhibition.28. An Announcement prior to the date of entries closing in “Our Dogs” of any alteration in the Schedule by the Dog

Committee shall be deemed sufficient notice thereof. 29. The Dog Committee can accept no responsibility for products advertised or sold by stand holders at the Show

and remind exhibitors that grooming products on sale may not meet the requirements of the Regulations for the Preparation of Dogs for exhibition.

30. Special bins will be provided at the Showground in the Dog Section for the cleaning up of all fouling made by the Dogs, and it will be the responsibility of the exhibitors and handlers with dogs in their care to ensure that this rule is carried out fully.
