REFRESHER TRAINING FOR WORKPLACE NOISE MANAGEMENT 1. Latest technology in acoustics and vibration 2. Refresher training for workplace noise management 3. Compiling a detailed and meaningful noise monitoring report 4. Submitting noise monitoring report via MOM’s eService WSHO 8 SDU Course Duration: 8 hours Attendees will be awarded a certificate of attendance in ‘Refresher Training for Workplace Noise Management’. Noise Monitoring Officers, Noise Control Officers, and Workplace Safety and Health Professionals. Pre-requisite At the end of the course, attendees will be able to: • Understand the latest equipment and technology used for workplace noise and vibration measurements Revise simple calculations involving noise and vibration • Conduct workplace noise measurements for the purpose of workplace noise monitoring • Understand the most up-to-date legal requirements involving noise and vibration • Consolidate measurements from the workplace into a noise monitoring report • Competently submit noise monitoring reports through the MOM eService portal Whilst there is no pre-requisite for this course, it is recommended that the attendee have previously completed one of the following courses: • Noise Monitoring Course • Noise Control Course • WSQ Monitor Noise and Vibration Course • WSQ Control Noise and Vibration Course • Other noise management course Noise is generated in the workplace during processes, operations and work activities. Prolonged exposure to excessive noise at work can result in Noise-Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL). Noise monitoring and control is, therefore, necessary to ensure workplace noise is well-managed. This is a refresher course for competent noise monitoring and noise control officers to update them about the latest advancements in noise monitoring and control.
