WELCOME: Today is preparatory Sunday. As we look

forward to the Lord’s Table being set at the front of the church

next week, and as we think about the cost He paid for our sins,

we need to make this week a week of self-examination that in

heart, soul and mind we turn to the Lord and away from sin.

“Therefore, whoever eats the bread of drinks the cup of the Lord in an

unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood

of the Lord. A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the

bread and drinks of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without

recognizing the body of the Lord, eats and drinks judgment on him-

self.” (1 Cor 11:27-29) May his word guide and enlighten us

during this week.

Children aged 3-5 meet your teachers in the foyer during the

offering this morning for Children’s Church.

Please join us after this morning’s service for refreshments

in the Fellowship Hall.

Our cookies today are in honor of Dee Kredit’s 85th

Birthday, this past Friday, July 28. Happy Birthday, Dee!

ABOUT OUR MESSAGES

What is the point of everything? That can sound like a deep

question with no answer; however, Scripture is clear: every-

thing exists for the glory of God. The final “Reformation

Pillar” recognizes an overall emphasis that even salvation is

all about the glory of God. This morning, we’ll look

at Psalm 115 and Revelation 7:9-12, which point us

to “God’s Glory Alone.”

As we prepare to celebrate the sacrament of Holy Commun-

ion next Sunday, we’ll look this evening at our catechism’s

teaching on the Lord’s Supper. 1 Corinthians 10:14-

22 reminds us of how communion truly, mysteriously unites

us to the body and blood of Jesus Christ.

PRAYERS AND PRAISES

Juna Meyerink will be moving to a different location this

week in Mitchell. Her new address is: 501 E Spruce St,

Dear Church family– Thank you for your prayers and words of

encouragement these past months for us and Marlys. She is doing very

well, working full-time and seems like her old self. She will be having

radiation treatments for some time yet, but we praise God for a good

outlook. He is Great! ~Merle, Joyce & Marlys Meyerink
