  • Did you know that in a recent article from CBC concluded that Canada wastes more than $31 billion worth of food? That is devastating to hear, especially when Vancouver is at a total count of 1,798 homeless people. A core issue is Canadians buying food with the intention of using it but in the end, they never do. Not only that but retailers throw away over 30% of fruits and vegetables before it makes it to the stores because of menial things like bruising etc.

RefoodMission The mission of R e f o o d i s t o e n c o u r a g e healthy lifestyles with products and services that are widely available and informative, allowing consumers to make better lifestyle choices. W e a t R e f o o d a d v o c a t e sustainability by taking unpurchased food from grocery stores and repurposing it, resulting in a lighter environmental footprint. We are working with students of New Westminister. Refood plans to educate youths by providing them with opportunities to learn more about food wastage and how to achieve healthy lifestyles. To this end, we are currently working on catering programs for food shelters, low income seniors and schools; we plan to expand in the future.
