Part-1
Reflect on yourself and your educational experience including your growth and your relationship
with your peers, the faculty and your placement.
For me, this placement was essentially about getting basic lawful work experience, which I could
rundown on my educational program vitae and which would hence help me to get access into the
legitimate calling. In my field placement class my professor Patricia Burns taught us the value of
time and also how to talk with everyone at work. She taught the etiquettes first that what to wear
how to be look professional and also, how to work with your seniors and deal with the
management. When I started this placement I was having some issues with the placement
timings especially during weekend early mornings but I still did it so as to prove myself. I
learned Employability skills like generic skills, transferable skills, and professional skills. Even
all my peers were very helpful. Whenever we got in class assignments or group assignments,
everybody put their initiative. We always worked as team member and got good grades. They
were very helpful whenever we need any help to finish our assignments they always helped us.
We always asked them questions without any hesitation. This is my final semester and I had a
very good experience with the entire faculty member in terms of assignment, presentations,
group work etc. I got to work with students from different country and ethnicity during all my
semesters. The overall experience has been overwhelming in a generally positive way for me as I
learnt so many things which were not possible with the help of my peers and faculty members. I
thank all of them to give me support and their helpful hand in my growth.
PART-2
Research your current placement organization and describe how they can contribute to the well-
being of the community, country and world.
I am pursuing my placement at Tim Horton. It is a large company that focuses on top quality,
always fresh products, value and great service. It has become the largest quick service restaurant
chain in Canada specializing in always fresh coffee, baked goods and home style lunches.
Originally Tim Horton offered only coffee and donuts to its customers but has greatly expanded
today to offer a full lunch menu as well along with many more baked goods. The biggest
attraction to Tim Horton is still their always fresh coffee, it is also offered in a take-home tin so
customers can enjoy the great taste of Tim Horton coffee at home. This restaurant is having a
True Effect in the way they characterize maintainable quality and obligation. Tim Horton expects
to have a genuine effect for people, our groups furthermore the planet – consistent. They both
offer great products at affordable prices and their cost leadership pricing makes it suitable for
students who are limited in money to be able to eat decent meals at an affordable price. This
organisation adheres to high ethical and legal standards in every aspect of business from social
sustainability and human rights. The sitting zone comprises of little tables that let just three
individuals sit agreeably at one time. The sitting seats are upright with a hard surface; they're not
happy and unwinding at all bit. Playful simple rock music plays out of sight, this music is
exceptionally sheltered in that all ages can recognize and acknowledge it while still noisy enough
to not hear the loud kitchen in the back. Tim Horton's wants you to think they want you to stay
and relax, but in reality everything suggests otherwise, the lighting, chairs, music all creates a
setting that allows you to get comfortable, but not too comfortable. They provide balanced menu
choices, Hospitality, Food Safety, Employee rights for individuals. The Tim Horton Children
Foundation provides an enriching and memorable camp experience for children and youth living
in economically disadvantaged homes. The largest single fundraising event is Camp Day. Camp
Day is the one day (during the first week of the month of June) when our Restaurant Owners
donate 100% of their coffee proceeds, plus other funds raised throughout the 24-hour period, to
the Foundation. The Tim Horton Coffee Partnership helps small-scale coffee farmers and their
communities by supporting them in key economic, social and environmental areas that will
improve their coffee business and their lives. They are also promoting the recycling and go green
programs to save the planet. Basically the property is putting their best efforts for the wellbeing
of the community, country and world.
Part-3
What do you think your placement could be doing to improve their current contribution to
making the world a better place and creating a positive carbon footprint?
My placement at Tim Horton could supplement their recycle program by putting the recycle
items from garbage bag to the clear plastic bags. So, that it can be reprocessed and thus I make a
very little contribution to their program. A positive carbon footprint from my side will be using
recyclable dishwasher detergents at Tim Horton.
