Task 1 – Complete the worksheet on laws 1 to 4

An official futsal pitch is made from wood or artificial material. The rules of Futsal derive from 5 sports. The 5 sports ; Futsal, Hockey,

• Task 2 – In groups of 3 you must write the duties and roles of the referee and assistant referee and the time keeper. Each person in your group must take responsibility for one official.

Law 5 The referee • They enforce the laws of the game and apply the advantage rule

where appropriate

• Record of all incidents before, during and after game

• Stop game when deemed necessary

• Caution or expel players guilty of misconduct, violent conduct or ungentlemanly behavior

• Allow no others to enter the pitch

• Stop game to have injured players removed, signal for game to be restarted after every stoppage, decide that the ball meets with the stipulated requirements

Law 6 Assistant referee

• Similar to those of the main official

• Check the 2 minute punishment period after a player has been sent off

• Ensure substitutions are carried out properly, and keeping a check on the 1 minute time out;

• Maintain their position on the side of the player’s bench.

• Stop the clock when the ball is out of play

• Keep check on the time out periods for sending offs

• Indicate end of first and second half for the referee
