As of 17 April, 2020 Ref: ICAO State Letter of 18 March, 2020 Information The Government of Japan has taken necessary measures as described below to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and protect the health of passengers and airline crews. 1. Immigration (1) Passengers Please refer to Annex A (Information provided by the Ministry of Justice) http://www.moj.go.jp/EN/nyuukokukanri/kouhou/m_nyuukokukanri01_00003.html (2)Airline crews Regarding airline crew members who board on the aircrafts between Japan and the countries and regions designated as areas subject to the refusal of landing, as described in Annex A, the crew will be subject to denial of landing unless the crew has special exceptional circumstances. The example of special exceptional circumstances is as follows. The stay is necessary and short, and the crew stays only in area nearby accommodation facilities in Japan; However, if any symptom or health issue is observed in the quarantine, this exemption is not granted. 2. Quarantine (1) Passengers Please refer to Annex B (Information provided by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare) https://www.mhlw.go.jp/stf/seisakunitsuite/bunya/kenkou_iryou/covid19_qa_kanrenkigyou_00003.ht ml (2) Airline crews All crew members who board on the aircrafts between Japan and the countries and regions which are designated as areas subject to the refusal of landing will be subject to strengthened quarantine such as taking PCR test, waiting 14 days at a location designated by a quarantine station chief (but can leave Japan within 14 days), and refraining from using public transportation. However, for the crew members who have necessity to land in Japan and leave Japan at a later date, PCR tests can be exempted if the conditions mentioned below are satisfied. Information The Government of Japan has taken necessary measures as described below to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and protect the health of passengers and airline crews. 1. needs to make sure under its responsibility that there is no one who has any symptom at the departure and during the flight in the aircraft, and that health status is monitored and movement restriction is observed after the entry into Japan. Conditions:

(Before the departure of the flight to Japan) The operator checks if there is any crew member who has any symptom, and if some members do, the operator will not allow them to board on the aircraft. Operator must submit the list of crew members who should be exempted from PCR test before the time determined by the quarantine station.

(During the flight) The operator checks if there is any crew member who shows any symptom. If there is such a crew, it should be reported to the quarantine station in accordance with the Article 6 of Quarantine Act.

(At the entry into Japan) Each crew member needs to pass a quarantine. (If a crew member has any symptom, he/she needs to take PCR test.) Each crew member needs to read the check list and fill the “plan of stay in Japan” with signature (attached as Annex C for your reference), and submit it to the quarantine official.

(During the stay in Japan) o Wear face mask. o Stay at the individual room of the following hotels booked by the operator, and not go

out. hotel adjacent to the airport hotel in the city (move by dedicated vehicle. The use of public transport is not

allowed.) 3. NOTAM Please refer to Annex D (NOTAM issued by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport)

Notice: For Crews boarding vehicles from areas subject to strengthened quarantine

Check your health condition

・ Check your body temperature for fever every day.

・ Watch your symptoms carefully such as severe cough or difficulty breathing.

※ Pay attention to health condition of your close contacts as well.

Please ensure general hygiene measures

・ Use soap or alcohol hand sanitizer for handwashing

・ Practice coughing etiquette (covering mouth and nose using tissue paper, handkerchief,

or sleeves; cough into your elbow; wear a mask etc.)

If you have symptoms such as coughing or fever,

・ Take days off from school or work, and stay home. If you should go out, never use public

transportation.

・ Avoid going out, and wear a mask to prevent the spreading of infection to others.

・ Wear a mask, call the returnee and contact person consultation center and tell them that

you have stayed in areas subject to strengthened quarantine for advance. And then, visit

the designated medical institution.

For persons who live in close contact with family members, etc.

・ Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly.

・ Make sure to get enough sleep and nutrients.

・ If someone in your family, etc. is feeling unwell, the people around the person should also

wear masks and should limit the number of people with whom they come into contact.
