School ProfileChrist-Centered Education — Academics, the Arts,& AthleticsRedwood Christian Schools provides a rigorous kindergarten through twelfth grade (K-12) academic program designed to help our students be successful at the next step in their educational career. We believe that all truth is God’s truth and that God is sovereign over all the curricular disciplines. We are fully accredited K-12 by both the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the Association of Christian Schools International.

Decisions relating to curriculum and instruction are guided by God’s view of the world as presented in the Bible. Each course is built on the foundation that God exists and has revealed His will and ways in the Bible. All students are offered a well-rounded, Christ-centered education involving academics, fine arts and athletics, that challenges them to do their utmost in preparation for serving the Lord Jesus in their chosen profession or vocation. It is our desire that throughout our program of study students will gain the knowledge and skills needed to accomplish all that God has planned for their lives.

Private Satellite ProgramThe Redwood Christian Schools Private Satellite Program (PSP) partners with families throughout the greater East Bay and around the world. Through our PSP, families home school their children under Redwood Christian’s affidavit. PSP students can take on-campus classes, participate in the school’s co-curricular and social activities, and receive an RCS diploma and transcript upon graduation. Families filing their own affidavit may take on-campus classes and participate in many of the activities as well.

“The teachers at Redwood Christian Schools are completely invested in their students. Attending RCS from Kindergarten on, I have witnessed just how much every teacher wants us to succeed and to be the very best that we can be. I couldn’t imagine going to a different school because of the amazing teachers that I’ve had over the years.”~ Jacob Martinez, 12th Grade, Class of 2016

The quality of the education, content and skills taught, and the faculty’s involvement have made a great impact on my test scores as well as my spiritual life. My teachers continually encourage me to do better and offer their time and resources to help me do so.” ~ Annie Diaz, 12th Grade, Class of 2016

Why RCS?iLearn@RCSThe vision for iLearn@RCS is to utilize a Biblical worldview while providing 21st century living and learning skills. We have integrated educational technology through iPads into our existing curriculum along with an emphasis on the common 21st century learning skills: Ways of Thinking, Ways of Working, Tools for Working and Skills for Living in the World. Students are being taught that iPads are educational tools and not personal entertainment devices.

• A 1:1 iPad initiative is used in the High School. Each high school student is issued an iPad to use on and off campus, 95% of textbooks are now digital and students are involved in research and collaborative projects with their iPad.

• Six iPad carts are employed in the Middle School. These iPads stay at school and students use them during the day to conduct research, write papers, take notes and create projects.

• Three iPad carts are employed in the Elementary School. These iPads stay at school and students use them during the day with educational apps to learn key concepts and skills under the teacher’s direction.

• Each student in grades 6-12 receives a Google Apps for Education account, which includes an RCS email address, unlimited Google Drive storage, as well as Docs, Sheets and Slides apps.

RenWebRCS utilizes RenWeb as our schoolwide database. Teachers upload lesson plans, homework, grades and attendance for parents to view at any time through the ParentsWeb portal. In addition, a Progress Report is emailed weekly to parents.

“We chose RCS because, as devout Christians, we wanted an environment that would foster the religious & moral values that we are teaching at home. As educators, we were looking for a school that would have a strong academic program yet also offered music, art, sports, etc. After visiting the school during a shadow day, we were impressed with all that RCHS had to offer. The people were friendly and welcoming and clearly showed that maintaining a Christian identity was of the utmost importance.”~ Patricia Hierro, Current Parent
