“I tell people the Redford is my happy place - a true

gem. There’s just a special feeling that washes over me every

time I go. And I’m already thinking of the next time I’ll come back every time I

leave. I just don’t want the magic to end.”

A Detroit Story

The Redford Theatre’s story is reflective of Detroit’s story. It’s a story of beauty and of a rich history. A story of volunteers and the community coming together. It’s a story of resilience and can-do spirit.

At one point, the city of Detroit was home to more than 100 single screen movie theatres. Today, only 3 are regularly operating. With hard work and deep commitment the Redford Theatre not just survives, it thrives! Those who come to out to see films or enjoy an organ concert know it’s a special place where history and this shared story come to life.

Be a part of the next chapter in Detroit’s rebirth. Help us shine this old girl up, so that future generations may see movies the way they were meant to be seen.
