The new trademark ‘WELL BORN AFRICA’, inspired by Africa’s blaze of colours, presents a colourful series of new and fascinating bamboo types. Selected from a collection of robust wild seedlings, they not only surprise with their extraordinary appearance, they also convince with their particular vitality and resistance. They showed outstanding hardiness in test plantings. To guarantee varietal identity and quality, all ‘WELL BORN AFRICA’ types are exclusively propagated in limited numbers by careful manual division. They develop no runners and thus need no root barriers. Their all-round versatility, e.g. as bamboo hedge, impressive specimen plant or potted bamboo, leaves nothing more to wish for. Fargesia murieliae ‘ RED ZEBRA’ Fargesia ‘RED ZEBRA’ , the red zebra bamboo, is a medium thick, upright growing bamboo which will reach a final height from 250 cm to 350 cm. Its large and wide leaves impress with their distinctive dark green colour. As an extraordinary feature, the strong culms change their colour to claret under sunlight and provide together with the bright white culm sheaths a unique play of colours. All types are protected by tribal law. In case of unauthorised reproduction, we will send our warriors.
