SET INDUCTION (5 MINUTES)

TEACHER SHOWS TWO GLASSES TO THE PUPILS. ONE OF THE GLASS CONTAINS TISSUE PAPER AND THE OTHER GLASS CONTAINS SYRUPSTEACHER POUR THE SYRUPS INTO ANOTHER GLASS. TEACHER ASKS PUPILS TO OBSERVE THE ACTIVITY.TEACHER PLACE THE GLASS UP SIDE DOWNTEACHER ASK PUPILS WHAT HAPPENS TO THE SYRUPS

QUESTIONS : 1. WHAT HAPPENS TO THE SYRUP?2. WHAT DO YOU THINK ?

PUPILS BRING SOME MATERIALS TO CLASS FOR EXAMPLES TOWEL, PLASTIC, COIN, FACE COTTON, PEBBLES ETC.

PUPILS GROUP THE MATERIALS ACCORDING TO THEIR PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE. PUPILS CAN REFER TO THE PICTURE ON PAGE 83 ( SCIENCE TEXT BOOK)

TEACHER ASKS PUPILS AT RANDOM THE REASONS OF THEIR GROUPING.

QUESTIONS :

1. WHY DO YOU GROUP THE MATERIALS LIKE THAT? 2. WHICH OBJECT CAN ABSORB WATER?

PUPILS CARRY OUT A TEST TO FIND OUT WHICH MATERIALS WILL ABSORB WATER AND WHICH MATERIALS WILL NOT ABSORB WATER

PUPILS WILL DIP EACH MATERIALS INTO WATER

PUPILS HAVE TO RECORD THEIR PREDICTIONS AND OBSERVATIONS IN THEIR SCIENCE JOURNAL. PUPILS CAN USE MY CD TO WRITE THE RECORD AT THE E-JOURNAL
