What is Recycling Recycling involves processing used materials into

new products to prevent waste of potentially useful

materials, reduce the consumption of fresh raw

materials, reduce energy usage, reduce air pollution

(from incineration) and water pollution (from land

filling) by reducing the need for "conventional"

waste disposal, and lower greenhouse gas emissions

as compared to virgin production

Process of Recycling The recycling process involves three stages.

In the first stage the old products are collected and processed, where they are sorted, cleaned and made ready for recycling or manufacturing new products. The second stage involves the manufacturing of new products from the raw material obtained by the processing of the old products. Finally, the process ends with the purchasing of recycled goods by the consumers. The more people step forward to buy recycled products the better the success of the recycling process can be ensured.

Scrap paper can be used to make notes and sketchesOld tyres can be given to your local petrol station where they will be recycled.
