In the unit of inquiry with the “Sharing the Planet” transdisciplinary theme, we had a field trip to Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo. We learned and inquired about different habitats and endangered species.

Great experiences and fantastic events from KG2

The Recycled Fashion Show in RWA is an important event and nobody wants to miss it. We were creative and had lots of fun. KG2G sang “Earth! We Are In Together” on the stage.

Grades 9’s are now half way through their IGCSE course. Their end of year exams will begin on May 30th.

How should G.9’s study for their end of year exams?

Find out about the exam and use their revision list. Make sure you know all there is to know about

the format of your upcoming exam. You should know the length of the exam, the style of the exam

(objective, subjective, or both), and which sections are worth the most marks.

Make a study schedule for before the exam. Make a list of all your subjects. Divide the amount of

chapters you need to cover in each subject by the number of days. Figure out how many hours you

have to devote to each subject and each section.

Organize your study material. Have all your filed notes, old tests, and textbooks in one place to save

time. Clear away unnecessary books and papers from your study area. Take away any non-study

related material which could distract you.

Practice a lot. After reviewing, spend the majority of time on output activities which test your recall.

You could do this by using mind maps, flashcards, mnemonic devices, diagrams, songs or

presentations. You could also try to teach someone else the material; it’s a great way to check what

you know, understand and remember.

Maintain your health. Nourish your brain during the pre-exam period. Eat the best foods, drink

brain-boosting juices and smoothies. Avoid junk food, caffeine, and red bull. You need all the

resources possible to remember vast amounts of information and think clearly during your exam.

Feed your brain and energize your body with the best nutrition available.

Avoid cramming. The term cramming refers to stuffing loads of information into your brain in a very

short period of time, such as the night before the test. If you absolutely have to cram, review only the

highlighted info, key vocabulary, and most important topics.

Good Luck to all students in their end of year exams.

Dear Parents and Students,

As we near the end of the year, we have a couple of group wide events to still look forward to:

INNOVENTURES EDUCATION ART COMPETITION

This art competition involves students from all Innoventures Education schools. We have submitted en-

tries from RWA in both the Primary School and the Secondary School age groups. The exhibition will be

taking place at Raffles International School on May 31.

RAFFLES WORLD ACADEMY GRADUATION CEREMONY

We salute out Grade 12’s at their official graduation taking place at AUD on May 26 at 6:30pm.

INNOVENTURES EDUCATION ARABIC WRITING AND QURAN RECITAL COMPETITION

With the holy month of Ramadan ahead of us, Raffles International School will be hosting their second

annual Arabic Writing and Quran Recital competition. The event will be on June 1st at their premises.

Once again our students will be participating together with other students from Innoventures Education.

INNOVENTURES EDUCATION FILM FESTIVAL

Dubai International Academy will be hosting the awards ceremony for this film competition at their

premises on June the 15th. The completion will see entries from all four Innoventures Education Schools

in 5 categories.

I post the list of important dates for our ASA programme below. Unfortunately, there will be a lot of

changes and cancellations in this hectic end of year session. Don’t forget that May 19 is the last day for

all our after school activities.
