    Recycling For Profit

    Preface:

Bangladesh is a land of 14 million people and population is growing day by day.

In our daily life we use many kinds of plastics and glass accessories. After using that we just throw it away without recycling that. As a result, environment around us is pollutingday by day. Plastic and glass items are identified as one of the major contributor to theenvironmental waste because of their long life. Plastic and glass degradation is extremelyslow and it has the potential to generate hazardous output. Plastic items are used asbottles, bags, packing goods etc. it is mainly used by the manufacturer only for its lowcost. And the most usable plastic is used as the container of the cold drinks. In a hotcountry like Bangladesh peoples drinks a lot of cold drinks or mineral water. Afterdrinking they throw away the bottles. But they can be used again. If those bottles orplastic goods are used then both manufactures and the buyers will be benefited.

    Main Idea:

Our main idea is to recycle those plastic and glass goods. We will collect, wash and rebuild them. And sell them to various companies. Other scraps that are not ona position to recycle that we will export to the outer countries. The plastic bottles will bewashed and restructured by us and then we will sell it to the oil and cold drinkscompanies. And the glass bottles will be washed and sold to the drinks andpharmatuticals companies.

    Objectives:

    1. Collect some of the street children or man who does not have any work to do and

give them the opportunity to earn some cash per day by collecting scraps from theroads or houses.

    2. Contact with some of the scrap merchandisers who gets a large quantity of plasticand glass scraps per day. Convince them to sell some of his scraps to ourcompany per day.

    3. Buy machines that can wash, melt and shape new bottles. This will be powerconsuming or which needs less electric supply and give more output.

    4. Contact with some buyer who will be willing to buy from us. Such as cold drinksand Oil Company, scrap dealers etc.

    5. Find a place where we can set up all the machineries.6. Hire some experienced workers who can operate machines, security guard, driver

and some man to do the other chores.

    Plannings and Cost:

A chines company names Gee fill Machineries introduced a machine at current

year that can reshape plastic goods, melting and can produce new plastic bottles or goodswith a new shape. It is less power consuming and it gives a better output within a shorttime. And the main fact is it is not too expensive. It costs about tk. 4, 00,000. (Withoutinstallation fee.)

Outside near Dhaka city there are many scrap merchandisers who sells a lot of scraps perday. We have to convince them to sell plastic bottles to us at a large quantity.

Rent a place near Dhaka Metropolitan where we can setup the machines.

Buy a pickup truck for transportation. Buy a new one is not necessary.

There is a company that deals in scrap things. It names US plastic recovery. Itcollects scrap or waste materials from all over the world. The waste which we can not

convert or sale in Bangladesh, we will export them to Atlanta, Georgia.

As for Bangladeshi companies, we will give them refined plastic bottles and otherrecycled accessories at a cost lower than other companies.

The technology which we will use is not very well known to Bangladesh, as it is anew and advanced technology so that it can be expected to make better profit from it.

    Future estimated cost:

    Machineries 4, 50,000Office and factory (rent) 1, 00,000Delivery van (re-conditioned) 50,000Equipments 50,000Cash 50,000Others 70,000

    ------------------------7, 70,000

    Expected Profit:

    1. Because of our machineries are diesel and electrical power generated so that itcan produce 3700 (1 liter) bottles per day from the scrap. And that will cost us about4060 tk per day. That means 1 bottle costs 1.09 tk. On the other hand, other plasticaccessories will cost 4500 tk per day and per good costs 1.80 tk.

A chart is given below which gives a probable profit of our company:

Company name Present Avg. cost per good Our offer Our cost Profit (per good)

    Cocacola company 3.15 2.25 1.09 1.16Meghna oil 5.32 4.00 2.20 1.80Igloo company 3.25 2.25 1.09 1.16

Our company can supply at least 1500 bottles and at least 1000 other plastic goods perday.

    2. US plastic company offers $5000 for plastic, metal and polyethylene scrap perton. If we collect theses scraps costs taka. 150000 or lower per ton then we can have aprofit of 150000 tk. or higher after all costs.

    Future Plan:

Almost all the pharmacy and chemical companies introduces newmedicines or products every now and then. And for that they would need new deignedbottles at a low cost. We will give them the opportunity to chose or deign their bottles orbox.

    Conclusion:

Recycling is not so popular in Bangladesh. But in the outer countries, only for

recycling their environment and society is always clean and healthy. Through thisbusiness we can keep our environment clean and healthy and on the other hand we canmake a huge amount of profit from it.
