RECRUITMENT OF ADMINISTRATTION & FINANCE OFFICER
The International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC),) is a non-profit public international organization in the soil fertility and agricultural develop-ment sector. IFDC Head Quarters is in Alabama, USA, with two regional coordination offices in Africa. One of the two Divisions in Africa, the East & Southern Africa Division (ESAFD), coordinated from Nairobi, Kenya, is implementing several projects in Mozambique, and wishes to recruit an Administration & Finance Officer for our Maputo office. The overall purpose of post is to oversee the efficient administrative and financial operations of the IFDC office in Mozambique.
This is a national position open to Mozambican nationals only, and will report to the IFDC Country Representative based in Maputo.
DUTIES
Main duties are:• oversee the day to day Administrative and Financial Operations of IFDC in Mozambique;• do the accounting for IFDC Mozambique, supported by assistant accountant;• serve as the primary communication link on Administrative and Financial and compliance matters related to IFDC Mozambique , partners, business, sub grantees and donors;• serve as contact point between IFDC Mozambique, IFDC Regional office in Kenya and HQ regarding Administrative and Finance issues;• review activity budgets presented by other project personnel requesting for operational / travel advances from out-posted stations / provinces to ensure that such requests are modest, sustainable by the respective projects and are accounted for in a timely manner;• assist IFDC Country Representative to develop monthly fund request for each project;• maintain staff files of local staff and consultants;• ensure all legal requirements regarding employment of staff are implemented (social security, income tax, work schedule);• supervise procurements and yearly inventory• coordinate travel logistics for senior staff• supervise support staff (assistant accountant/ secretary , accountants in the provinces, receptionist, drivers, cleaners and guards)• oversee the preparation (budget and logistics) of seminars, workshops and other meetings• perform any other duties deemed necessary and requested by the Country Representative
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelors Degree in Commerce, Business Administration or other business related disciplines.• Full Accounting Certification such as CPA, ACCA.• Excellent computer skills (MS-Office, internet, email), previous experience with specialized accounting software will be an advantage.• Fastidious attention to detail and quality• Good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment• Excellent language skills, fluent in English and Portuguese (both written and spoken)• Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines• 6 – 10 years practical experience, two of which should be from the international NGO sector
